Exclamation The camel has its nose under the tent!

After years of tiptoeing through the tulips in the Twin Cities, the Vikings and the NFL have brought out the wrecking ball.

A day after Vikings V.P. of stadium wrangling Lester Bagley responded to Governor Mark Dayton’s warning that a deal to build a new venue must be finalized next year by saying “there is no next year,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told Dayton that a failure to finalize a stadium bill in the current (and soon to be ending) legislative session will lead to “serious consequences.”

I feel like if the Vikings had ever WON SOMETHING in their long and miserable lives, like a Super Bowl, the non-football population of Minnesota would be a lot more into supporting the team and willing to cough up for a stadium or work out a deal, etc. But I think the people in Minnesota who aren't hardcore football fans, are kind of fed up with the Vikings always losing/choking.... It'd be a lot more likely to have support from the legislature if they had a consistent winning program, but going to the NFC Championship game once in recent years and then imploding is not going to inspire the citizenry to get behind the team.
