Trick-shot quarterback Alex Tanney gets invitation to Bills’ rookie camp

The draft scouting process is generally a long and complicated one, but there are times when various outliers jump up for other reasons than the usual height/weight/speed concerns. You may remember former San Jose State defensive end Jarron Gilbert getting a great deal of notoriety for a YouTube video shot in 2008, in which he displayed his athleticism and explosiveness by jumping out of a swimming pool just before the 2009 NFL Draft. Originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of that draft. Since then, he's also spent time on the New York Jets roster, and he's now with the Buffalo Bills.
Turns out that the Bills are open to other YouTube sensations, as they made clear this week.

When Monmouth College quarterback Alex Tanney put this video up last year, the buzz started quickly -- and it hasn't stopped.

Not bad, great hand-eye coordination ... must play a lot of video games, ... exactly how many Div III players make it in the NFL? ... it's the Buffalo Bills, they could probably use the help after they way they tanked it last season ... hope he makes it, but it sure would suck if he hit one of the goal posts with a pass during a game like he did in the video, .

SloMotion- This kid has the accuracy of Drew Brees. Remember the sports science with Drew Brees video. If his football skills match his passing ability he just might be the next one to break the passing record. He can bounce balls off of defenders backs backs on purpose to get the ball into a receivers hands. He can close his eyes and hit his target without seeing it. Look at the pass he did from the opposite side of the bleachers to the trash can. It wasn't even visible. I am willing to bet if Brees took this guy under his wing he could be a huge success.

How is he at taking snaps with 6'5" grown men coming to break his neck? (with a bounty of course)

Can he move in the pocket?
Can he make the same throws with wind?
Can he make she same throws moving?

Those high arcs surely give a D-Back plenty of time to get under the ball.

Then you have to ask your self.... This vid has been out for a while.. What did draft scouts see that they did not like?

They probably didnt even visit him because he was a division 3 quarterback. As far as I can tell the Saints are one of the only teams that give players from smaller schools a chance. But like I said above, if you give him a quarterback as good as Brees to mentor under he will be a beast by the time he gets to be a starter.

... that's what I'm talking about, it's one thing to hit a stationary object standing alone on an empty field and quite another to hit a moving receiver with an NFL pass rush breathing down your neck.

IDK, if he had went to Purdue or played D-1 ball like Brees did, then I'd probably be more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, or if the Saints had signed him and he was actually going to be mentored by someone like Drew ... but he went to Monmouth, played D-3 ball and he was signed by Buffalo, where he'll be mentored by Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tyler Thigpen ... I remain skeptical at this point.

His Youtube video is been up for a year. Doesnt matter what Division he went to... If you and I are interested in a trick shot QB you can bet Every coach and football player alive wanted to see it, if they knew about it..

Ill bet even Brees has seen it,
