My understanding in professional sports is that when you build a new stadium, part of the deal with the league is that you'll host a championship game or an all-star game within a few years ... how else do you think Detroit landed a SuperBowl(s)? Both times it was after constructing new stadiums ... Major League Baseball & the NHL also brought their All-Star Games to Detroit after a new ballfield and ice arena were built ... Atlanta may get to host a SuperBowl out of this, but they'll never be a perennial host and SuperBowl destination city like New Orleans ... no way in hell.
