NFL Players Who Could Thrive With Different Team

WR Santana Moss, Washington Redskins

I can’t help but think of that Peyton Manning commercial, “…if you like 6-4 quarterbacks with rocket arms.” While Manning may be the measurable image of a perfect prototypical quarterback, Santana Moss was clearly the product of parents who may never have been legally tall enough to ride the Matterhorn.

While he is listed at a very generous 5-10, that has not stopped Moss from producing a solid NFL career. He has notched four different 1,000+ yard seasons, and has racked up 56 career touchdowns. Yet, Moss has been saddled with a bunch of duds for teams. The Redskins have never won more than 10 games with Redskins, and has sniffed the postseason just twice.

Much of that unsuccessfulness may rest in the instability at the quarterback position. During Moss’ tenure the Washington signal callers have resembled little more than a stationary jugs machine switched to the wounded-duck setting. Mark Brunell, John Beck, Rex Grossman and Todd Collins are just some of the dubious names who have tried to not get Moss killed by leading him too far across the middle each Sunday.

With great hands and the speed to match, one can compare Moss to Wes Welker; if he was only placed with the right QB. Drew Brees to Santana Moss just feels right.

I know some people here were kind of hoping that Scott Shanle would go do some thriving with the Rams, or someplace else, but I guess for now it's not to be!
