Falcons running back Turner charged with DUI

Michael Turner apparently went out and got blitzed following the game last night.

Quote:

Just hours after helping his team beat the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, Falcons running back Michael Turner was in the Gwinnett County Jail, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.

Turner, 30, of Suwanee, was booked into the jail just after 5 a.m., and was released about two hours later on $2,179 bond, according to jail records.
I love that mug shot. He has OH HELL written all over his face.

The commissar won't suspend him for the Saints game.

lol after that first pick it took him three tries to get in from the one last night

I was really hoping the Broncs would stuff him right at the line that third time, and they almost did

Took the Falcons 3 plays to pick up 3'!

And they only got 10 points off 4 turnovers; that tells me that if Peyton hadn't thrown that many TOs, Atlanta would have lost!

Averaging less then 3yds per carry and 75yds in two games, Turner has hit that 'plateau' all RBs seem to hit and then decline ... if ATL wants to get rid of him, now would be the opportune moment,.

He's only hurting himself doing this. He's been becomeing less productive every season. People are even starting to call for Quizz to be the feature back.

Who cares? I want W's, no matter how close we are to losing.

Falcons issue perfunctory statement regarding Turner arrest | ProFootballTalk
It had been 38 days since an NFL player was arrested, so maybe some of you forgot the routine.

Step one, player gets arrested.

Step two, mug shot emerges.

Step three, team issues meaningless, perfunctory statement acknowledging the arrest.

So here’s the Falcons’ statement regarding the arrest of running back Michael Turner: “We are aware of the situation involving Michael and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”

The incident falls within the confines of the league’s substance-abuse policy. For a first offense, Turner will likely be fined two games if/when he is convicted or pleads guilty. Barring aggravating circumstances, there will be no suspension.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Turner was driving 97 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone. Given his alleged intoxication, that could possibly be regarded as an aggravating circumstance.

The replacement refs drove him to drink. That would be my defense plan if I was his lawyer ;)

I'm not too bothered by this. I assume everyone else on the road is
stupid already. I'd rather you drink on the road with me than text.
At least drunks are looking at the road.

Even if they suspend him it's no big deal. He's averaging what 2.5 yards a carry per game?

He's not going to be suspended... just fined.

Yeah, he's been running like a drunk all season. Maybe that's the problem!
