Why would the NFL have any say or influence over Williams other than they've cut a deal with him?

Once a person is barred and allowed to do what he wants, what does the NFL care whether he goes to any game or not. He's not allowed to be employed in the NFL.

Herr Goodell has made yet another underhanded, under the table deal. Can't wait for Goodell to finally get called to the witness stand and the discovery process to begin.

Yup, remember that affidavit he signed was dated September 14....and now this. To go from being banned from the freaking NFL to having less severe of a punishment than Sean Payton, in the space of two weeks...how'd that happen?
