Falcons' fans over the top (talking about winning SB XLVII, and PI**ING on the statue in front of the Dome)

They're 5-0, and you'd think that the season is already over.

Check out the high-flying ignorance on this thread:

You know the saying about winning with class, "act like you've been there before"? Well -- they've obviously never been there before, not even close

records don't matter once the playoffs start. It's basiclly a new season and that where the Falcon normally lay eggs...

LOL....even when we're 1-4 we're still all they think about....its hilarious. No where near the playoffs and only played what 1 or 2 division games....still haven't played real elite teams such as 49ers or Texans (both of which would destroy them if they make the playoffs).

I haven't seen the Falcons remainding schedule. I'm sure there are a few teams including us that will hand them a loss...
I'd laugh if they implode and go 8-8 this year.

When I was in ATL a couple of months ago, I was gonna take a poo on their AC unit, so the Georgia Dome would smell better... I called it Operation: Poo Dat...

It never happened, but the thought was hilarious

I am not going to venture to predict a record for the Clowns, but I will say, their next 2 games the Clowns will play in the Dome are in November of this year, and sometime in the Fall of 2013.

Right now, even if we beat them twice, they're more likely to fulfill that threat than we are.

They havent really faced anyone this season worth mentioning.

I think every team they have faced minus San Diego currently all have losing records.

Then they face Oakland this week.

one hidden fact about the Falcons is, they get an inflated record almost every year since 2007 due to the schedule, its been cupcake for them where they draw up bad teams, and all the tough teams ends up at their place.

Its why they look like a joke in the playoffs, their record is nothing more than inflated past that 8-8 record they really are each season.

Nobody wants to see the Falcons in the SB. The ratings would be an all time low. Oh, and Turner will be suspended before the season is over you can go ahead and count those as 3-5 losses. Without him Ryan moves up to their #2 RB.

Re: Falcons' fans over the top (talking about winning SB XLVII, and PI**ING on the statue in front of the Dome)

Seems to make, the season is not over and done yet. Maybe I am ,mistaken. Is it over for Atl Falcons? Is that what the media and AF fans are saying? So in other words, they won all they are going to win, LOL!!! Ok, whatever.
Yeah, I am a Saints ' fan, was then at 1-15 season (they one game, a game) and during SB year, is one now, and will be.
Yeah, I wish the Saints were doing far better this year as of now.
The NFL is big. BIG. Gone are the days when one team really hada monoply and was in the SB again and again back to back years-SanFran49's, DC-America's Team and so one.
SB is up for grabs by any of the 32 teams. Gone are the days when teams stayed as a unit without so many trades, free-agency, etc.
It is way too early to say what teams are in SB. Falcons , yes, have the W's, but still this is Ocotber. Then there is postseason, a new season. Then CC and then SB.
Seems to be AT fans should maybe hold on the bragging until that day in Feb...if AF get there. I don't like or get any of the unsportsmanlike fan smack talk, nasty stuff. P**&^ng on the LA Superdome? Really?

How exactly is that any different than Saints fans?

Beastmode 10-18-2012 05:39 PM

Re: Falcons' fans over the top (talking about winning SB XLVII, and PI**ING on the statue in front of the Dome)

Their record is impressive. Beyond that, well, there isn't much. They have won several close games just as we have lost several close ones. It's not as if they are destroynig teams. Their run game is weak, weaker than ours and without Turner their QB is the second leading rusher. That is not a good sign, omen, whatever you want to call it. If Turner goes down, or he gets what's coming to him (suspended), they are screwed.

The only thing that seperates them from us are a handful of plays that determined the outcome of games. They got those plays. We did not.

That is football. Do they look like a SB contender. No. There is nothing about them that says ohhhhh, great defense.....ohhh great offense...ohhh great special teams. Nothing. They are an average team with a good record. If they had something then I would say otherwise but that is not the case.

I'd venture to upgrade that with "They are a good team with a great record"

But your point remains, they really aren't what I'd call elite. I'd say they're a game or two worse than their record, as we're a game or two better than our record.

Right now, they have bragging rights... for now.

Because when they lose 1 game they will all give up on the team, burn their jerseys and flags, and go to the only 5 star restaurant in Atlanta ( Wendys ) to drink colt 45 and talk about the draft.

Seriously though, we didn't have SB threads after 5 games in 2009, and if they showed up they were quickly shot down from what I remember.

That's some serious revisionist history. I remember Saints fans shouting DYNASTY before the team had even won a Superbowl

I agree with Fin about that dyansty talk here. Many here did not agree with it. Fate is you just don't count everything as done before it happenes, even in your life.
Atl Falcons fans, time will tell. The Falcons still have 1/2 of this football season and then postseason. That is a long, long, time away.

Re: Falcons' fans over the top (talking about winning SB XLVII, and PI**ING on the statue in front of the Dome)

I dont think we will truly see another Dynasty in Football again.

The last one of our era was pretty much a sham with Spy Gate going. The last one before that was Dallas in the early 90s.

2 year span of winning the SB in 2009, the NFC had teams that greatly improved to move into a high caliber team challenging for the Conference title, you go back into Patriots era, Cowboys era, and prior, I can remember the same teams often staying in the playoffs every year, their was no parity, its why teams like NE, Dallas, San Fran, was in the playoffs and SB so much in those years, those teams didnt change much, nor did their competition.

FFWD to now, its another ball game. Teams continually changing.

I am certain the Saints will see another SB appearance though before Brees retires.

I am going to tell you first hand, Atl wont even get close to the SB this year.
