This is far from being the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of in pro football. Lets just take a deep breath before we attempt to prove just how more hallowed we are here. Some players hate their coworkers. Oh NO! We can't have that!! I hate some co-workers. Where's the shame?

I've seen an OL take a dive while blocking for A Brooks, along with a few other stunts and comments around the league. Life sucks for a few unworthy of respect QBs. Hell, I've seen players proclaim their dislike for Rodgers, and while they're still teammates ..

The difference between me hating a co-worker and what Lomas Brown did is that while I might hate somebody I would never try to hurt or get that person hurt. Thats the disturbing part. It doesn't matter if its the Lions or the Saints, if it happened in New Orleans I hope the guy doing it would get cut right away.

Honestly though, I think it's just Lomas Brown running his mouth in an effort to gain some sort of relevancy/popularity/notoriety in the sports broadcaster/analyst world. Since he made the statement, his name/face has been out there and he's been on every conceivable sportstalk show imaginable.

In all reality, Sean Jones was probably beating Lomas all day long like he stole something and Brown needed some excuse to cover his own poor play.

Think about it. Scott Mitchell was a big QB and could take a hit. All of a sudden, Lomas decides he's gonna' get Mitchell 'out of there' by letting Jones in and telling Kevin Glover the same. Miraculously, Jones beats Lomas and miraculously injures Mitchell, taking him out of the game, just as Lomas planned. Like at 24-0, Brown had been doing such a miraculous job holding Jones out before that. Dave Kreig then becomes the Lions starting QB, again all according to Lomas' evil plan..

It's a little too coincidental if you ask me. And he brings it up now? 18yrs later? Sounds like a publicity stunt, IMO. I'm not saying O/L don't mail it in on some plays, but what happens in the trenches, stays in the trenches, know what I mean? It was cold, windy, they were outside and playing on natural grass that day. The Lions were notorious for not being able to play outside then and Lomas was one of the biggest, whiny 'mitches' of them all.

I think Mitchell just happened to get injured on a play and Lomas, in his frustration with the Lions organization and his own poor play that day, took the opportunity to fabricate this lame story (back then or now) and claim credit for a QB swap we all wanted anyway.

When you see him on a sportstalk show, you naturally think, "who the f#ck is that?" Then when you find out he played for the Lions, you naturally think, "what the f#ck does he know?". This is his way of getting some sort of street-cred in the sportstalk world.

What a buffoon, if you ask me. I don't think he did it.

I've been reading some articles on this since the story came out, and I remember a room mate I had in college telling me he basically did the same thing in high school.

Got me wondering how many times it actually happens. I'm thinking that, sadly, Lomas Brown wasn't the first or last to do this.
