Goodell probably already called an emergency NFL Board meeting to discuss a new rule on this. Rather than shaking their hand when they get drafted, he's going to give them a fine instead.

No red flags here. The bets were made but never paid out during the season. He clearly states, "still owed".

But the intent was there.

Even though the Saints didn't knock Warner, Favre or others, out of games, according to Goodell, having a pay-for-performance program indicated intent.

But those players were still in the NFL. These players no longer play college. There was no intent, or suspected intent to hurt anyone either. No money, no gifts exchanged. Nothing to see here. I serioulsy doubt it impacts their picking order. Cam committed a crime...didn't seem to hurt him much for someone who threw a stolen computer out a window.
