Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; One of the teams interested is KC............He does not fit that team and he will not be able to stop Manning when his own qb will not match him. If we don't get him another team who runs a zone ...

I suspect he was money hungry when he had a boastful rep to push.... (shutdown corner, don't challenge his side of the field) A humbled man may not be so quick now to chase whats not best for him, we have a terrific shot.

Re: Nnamdi Asomugha

Its funny watching all these big names come across hoping they accept league minimum and yet they leave for lesser teams for more money.

All we have to show thus far is a long snapper...

God, we need this guy. I don't wanna hear the age thing. Champ Bailey is still getting it done at a VERY high level and he's 35.

So as long as you don't leave him 1 on 1 with Torrey Smith. But honestly, what CB could go 1 on 1 with Torrey Smith?

Anyways, it was more of the wrong system than level of play for Nnamdi.

Re: Nnamdi Asomugha

Free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha is visiting the 49ers Thursday.

It's already been reported that there's mutual interest here. The Niners are in the market for a bigger corner and Asomugha could be looking to return "home." He played his college ball at Cal and spent the first eight years of his NFL career in Oakland. Asomugha could come very cheap as he's still collecting $4 million from the Eagles in 2013 no matter what.

I think we need to hop on this. It just seems like a natural and seemless fit. He's already collecting 4 million, offer him another 4 on a 1 year deal and see if he bites. DRC took a 1 year 5 million dollar contract for his prove it deal. I wouldn't mind doing a 2 year 10-12 million dollar deal either.

Let's do this Loomis!

Re: Nnamdi Asomugha

Forget it...
yet another good player out of reach only hoping they take league minimum or want a "true shot at a championship"

Re: Nnamdi Asomugha

Well, papz does bring up a good point, though, about Nnamdi already banking 4 million from the Eagles this year. We should have a decent shot at him, but we'll just have to see how much more other teams are willing to risk for him. I also have no idea if the Saints are even pursuing him.

Baily got it done except for being completely shafted in the playoffs.
