Happy days... the Vikes needed/need impact WRs desperately!

While the money is a bit high at $9M/yr, only $18M of it is guaranteed and it's still a lot less than what Harvin was rumored to have wanted from the Vikes.

Now the Vikes need to use one of their 1st rounders in the draft to pick the best available WR.

I hate the Vikings. And it was really stupid of them to spend this much money on a guy who was banged up last year, and even a bit the year before that. Jennings is a great receiver but he's entering the downside of his career. I grew up in Vikings-land and moves like this always made me scratch my head.

If it weren't for the whiny Crykings we wouldn't have had this phony Bountygate mess. I hate hate hate the Crykings.

Yeah, sure... keep telling yourself that.

Are you a Vikings fan, too? After all their whining about us? Geez dude, I feel betrayed and I don't even know you. lol

I've never hidden that sweet nugget of information about myself... yeah, I'm definitely a Vikings fan, but not nearly as much as I'm a Saints fan.

I do root for the Saints when the two play against each other, and naturally I don't agree with the criticism from their camp targeted at the Saints - the fans were just disappointed and that logically led to some questionable statements on their part but that's no different from any other fan base.

That's the beauty of B&G ... despite Finny's shortcomings as a Minnesota Vikings & San Jose Sharks supporter,, there's still common ground to be found in New Orleans, ... (you know you're da' man, FS,.)

But, "Ouch", this signing has to hurt for Green Bay & what a brilliant move by Minnesota to fill the void left by Harvin's departing. I honestly thought they were gonna' take care of that in the draft. I am on record in another thread as picking Minnesota to win the NFC North next season; with moves like this, they certainly don't seem like they're going to disappoint, :).

NFC North is gonna' be a m'fer next year ... even the Lions are making some good moves,.

Ah. I never noticed that tidbit about you. I find it impossible to root for any other team, except when I need some team to win a game to help the Saints.

About other Vikings fans though, I understand them being disappointed, but I wouldn't say they acted like any other fanbase. It's going on 4 years since that NFC title game, and they still say we cheated. I don't see any other fanbase lamenting one game so much, from that long ago. Time for them to get over it.

Well, most of them are over it, it's just the few people who can't seem to get past it. But if you go to one of their message boards you'll see that people aren't talking about that game anymore and have moved on.

And I do think that if the Saints hadn't gotten their ring afterwards - some Saints' fans would still be talking about how the Bears sabotaged the playing surface at Soldier Field in that NFC title game... don't you? ;-)

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Who said anything about the field being sabotaged? That field is always crap. Never entered my mind to blame the field. If I've never heard of it, it couldn't have ever been much of a big deal.

I don't visit other teams message boards, and I'm not sure why anyone does. But when I read comments on national articles, if it's about the Saints, there are always pitiful vikings fans complaining that we cheat for every single thing. They think it's funny to bring it up, I guess, but it got old a long time ago. At any rate, I don't include you in my Vikings loathing.

They watered it down the previous night, which made the middle of the field very soggy and since the Bears were aware of this they knew to fit the right spikes on their cleats - if you ever re-watch that game notice how the Saints' players are struggling with their footing compared to the Bears' players. Now, one could argue that's something that falls under the home field advantage column, but there was no reason for the heavy watering the night before, so it did raise some questions afterwards. If you've never heard of it, then I don't know what to tell you.

I wouldn't really take too much out of the opinions left in the comments sections on news stories on sites like NFL.com or ESPN.com, because those people rarely represent the true knowledgeable fan base that most if not all NFL teams have - much like our own Black & Gold! ;-)

Thanks for your support bro, but I have to correct you on one of your points: I'm not a San Jose Sharks supporter, I just watch their games... which has BTW been pretty painful so far this season!

Oh, well I'm glad to hear that ... those pesky Sharks have given my RedWings fits in the playoffs more often then not,.

The fact that I don't remember hearing about it, shows that I don't give a crap about excuses. We lost, it sucked, but it's long over. And while the conversation shifted to the fans, I was not talking about their fans when I said they keep whining. I'm talking about the Vikings organization. It never goes very long without hearing someone, even the freaking punter, from that team to make some stupid remark about us. I don't respect them for that reason.

And no one said that you have to respect or like them. :-)

It wasn't the field, what really killed us was Reggie doing that stupid flip, LOL. That got the Bears all pumped up again, right when we were about to take over the game. 23-0 after that flip!

Wow, didn't expect that one.

Oh, and SaintsBro, completely agree with you there. Forgot about that disrespectful antic. Of course, through much counciling I have blocked out much of Reggie's Saint career.

Yeah, I'm hoping he's got all those shenanigens out of his system, ... he already stipulated, "no Kardashian questions" in his first on-air, sportstalk, call-in interview ... I hope he's not a drama queen!

Now you gotta get used to him trying to be a certain former Lion who could turn the other direction and cross the field, turn up, and run for touchdowns. Reggie thinks he can do this, but he normally gets pancaked as soon as he turns, for about a 5 yard loss. I don't miss that about him.

He's figured out a few things, and should be an upgrade for you guys. But you're still gonna scratch your head from time to time.

I thought about that when I saw someone reference Bush's propensity to run sideline to sideline,. Part of me thinks it's an upgrade, part of me thinks it's the Lions trying to relive the Barry Sanders glory days. Hope Reggie has thick skin, the comparison has been made & if he can't even remotely live up to it, the fanbase will turn on him like, ... well, like a pack of hungry lions,.
