What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

They want to put cams in the locker room so you can watch the football players in the locker room before the game.

I don't know about you but I can think of a few better things to improve the game experience.

cup holders for all, more parking, maybe a few more roads around the stadium for traffic purposes (you are the NFL making tons of money off of fans, I am sure you can afford helping cities with roads). Maybe show other games that are playing in the stadium instead of just scores. better WIFI settings (its 2013 for crying out loud).

Those are a few.

I dont really care to see men running around in jocks and all you hear is a steady beeeeeeeeeeep because the Fks are flying.

The sanctity of the locker room needs to be preserved. Privacy is required to put on a game face.

This is what happens when you let lawyers run the league.

Not to mention there will be more N-words dropped than a Tarentino movie.
It will not end well.

Re: What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

This isn't about what it superficially seems to be about. This is about if you were Goodell and you wanted to get rid of Gregg Williams-style locker room speeches, if you wanted to control coaches and control and monitor what they are allowed to say and think, you couldn't think of a better way to do it than this. Remember the Pamphilon audio recording of Gregg Williams' pregame speech? For all their supposed thoroughness and all their mountainous pages and pages of supposedly ironclad evidence, the league didn't know about the Sean Pamphilon audio AT ALL, when it broke. It blindsided them. That was a serious embarrassment and egg on the face of the league and their investigation. Remember the sideline audio of Hargrove, folks, that they tried to use against the Saints, that turned out NOT to be Hargrove? Again it was another embarrassment for the league, caused because the league over-reached with their case, by either mis-using or mis-understanding the "evidence" they used. This is a direct knee-jerk reaction to MISTAKES and ERRORS that Goodell and his crew made during the Bountygate investigation. That is exactly what this is, folks.

 ... yeah, turn the NFL into a big reality TV show, that'll enhance my NFL experience,. So, what team will Snooki & 'The Situation' be suiting up for?

But yeah, I can see this as a 'cover-your-ass' move by the NFL in light of the embarrassement they suffered trying to railroad the Saints.

Bad idea. x-(

Its big brother and it will be coming to your TV.

i agree Slo-Mo, it would be reality TV. Awful idea. I am with Oak totally, but I'd throw in cheaper beer also. One beer there is a 6-pack everywhere else.

Re: What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

I guess I'd rather see & hear the locker room than smell it, but this is still a dumb idea.

I agree with others here that making the experience more affordable is the single best way to improve gameday. By the time you've been stuck up for tickets, parking, concessions, etc. the game becomes more stressful than enjoyable. Most of the time I'd rather watch at home.

Showing other games and having a fast and reliable WIFI for all should improve the experience in itself quite a lot.

You mean to tell me they don't sit around drinking coco and eating cookies. Then they all kneel and pray for the safety of themselves and the opposing team? Followed by a group hug and a rousing chorus of Cum-by-ah? Capped off with the team captain giving an inspiring speech beginning with "Gosh guys, I guess we should all try our darndest today..........

That is stupid, putting cams in the locker room. Makes no sense to me. Ok, it might be interesting for us girls to see some of them in underwear, but other than that I say no to this idea!

This move has girls written all over it. Not so much the muscles in undies, but it humanizes the men behind the masks. You see and hear their personalities and behaviors off the field.

Its like "The Real Housewives of Hollywood", but with muscles and undies.

Women will eat this up.

Re: What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

Yeah great turn the NFL into a "reality" show and bring it one step closer to becoming the WWFL! Replace the down and distance marker with scantily clad girls holding cards up. The coach doesn't agree with a call he breaks a folding chair over the ref's head! There will be only one game a week and available only on PPV! The coaches will call each other out, talk "Smack" while they glare meanecingly at each other. At the half Kurt and Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin will have a demolition derby to the death!! When the game of the week ins in New Orleans they'll throw the unpopular ex Saints players to the lions!!! It's very close to it now, just wait and people think it's "All Rigged" now!! In 10 years Ken Burns will come out with "When It Was A Game II"

"Enhancing the game experience" = "something else for which the NFL charge more money to fans".

The NFL should move its HQs to Winston Salem, NC.

I'd rather watch the WNBA locker room.........and that doesn't excite me in the least.

How about handing a pair of these to everybody in attendance, so they can enjoy the same HD experience the folks at home can..?

That would be fine and all until one of those lovely ladies got gang tackled out of bounds, like sometimes happens to the members of the chain gang.

... as long as it's done tastefully & professionally, I'm not going to rule against contact with the sideline crew,.

The only potential for problems I see are something happening similar to this: Y! SPORTS, which could be alleviated with proper training of the girls on the rules of the game,.

mark my words. It will not last long.

Hell, may as well bring Brett Favre back. You know he will end cameras in the locker room for good.

I am not sure about that. Do you really think they would behave normal when they are aware that there are cameras? I doubt it.

If I were a player, I did not want to habe cameras in the locker room. Look, you are trying to concentrate on the game, do your thing before the game. That would bother me as hell!

TheOak 04-15-2013 09:45 AM

Re: What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

This is easily thwarted. Do you think there will be live cameras in the locker room at half time when coaches are making adjustments? There will need to be an on/off switch in the locker room.

Leave it off and tell the league "we always work on strategy".

Re: What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

To hell with the cameras in the locker room, how about getting the guys that operate the replays in the dome to show replays of the plays that matter not all the added stupid things for the people with a .5 second attention span (by no means does that include those drinking). That alone would improve my game day experience

Re: What do you think of NFL's new idea to make going to games a better experience?

Well how about micing up ALL of the refs... I want to hear that discussion when they huddle for a possible penalty.
