Steve Spagnuolo hired by Baltimore Ravens as senior defensive assistant
 

Steve Spagnuolo, who was fired by Sean Payton after one season as defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints, was hired by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday as senior defensive assistant.

The Saints were the worst defense in NFL history under Spagnuolo's leadership. Payton hired Rob Ryan to replace him. The Ravens' move reunites Spagnuolo and Baltimore Coach John Harbaugh, who worked together with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Assistant in a 3-4...? Hmmm...

Still, I'm glad the guy got another shot, because last year's defensive performance certainly wasn't all on his shoulders.

I wish him well... with all of the new faces on defense in Baltimore, he has his work cut out for him.

assistant is the key word in this. He won't have too much "say so" in what the DC wants to do.

He's not even a coordinator. However he NEEDS some success in order for anyone to ever consider him for a job.
