Question for the Forum

Considering the Patriots will be without Hernandez, and Gronkowsqi having another surgery this year, is there a realistic chance that Brady won't break Brees consecutive TD record?

I don't follow the Pats to know, (or care) who their WRs are, and as long as they have Belichek and a healthy Tom Brady, they will find a way to win games.

But all it takes is for Brady to not throw a TD pass in one of their 1st 7? games to preserve Brees in the record books!

Re: Question for the Forum

In hindsight, the game when Brees's streak went out the window, you could kinda tell that the Falcons were keying in on Brees, playing like a "whatever you do, don't let him throw the TD pass" type of defense, that they really game planned against the pass, pretty much for anything outside the Saints' 40, and it worked. Of course lots of other things went wrong, too, for the Saints, but all those interceptions? Brees was forcing it all over the place, and getting reckless late in the game. The Saints looked like they got impatient towards the end, as they were running out of time.

Somehow I don't think Brady makes that mental/emotional mistake, if he gets into that same type of situation. It worries me a little, because Belichick is exactly the sort of guy who will let the media whip it into a frenzy over the Brees streak, get everybody all keyed up and talking about Brady is going to throw this magical TD pass at some point, and then Belichick will come out there with his yoda hood on and run the rock down our throats again and again and again.

First instinct is no, how far away is he since we play them game 6?

I do believe Game 6 would earn him the record. Something tells me this was done on purpose.

Anyone look at the pats schedule? We have the best chance of stopping him.

Yeah he probably will.

I hope to be wrong though.

Re: Question for the Forum

I don't think that Brady will have ANY of the receivers back from the Patriots team last year. He's one of the best QB's to ever play the game so it's certainly possible but it will be tough.

Re: Question for the Forum

I'm glad Drew blew his streak. Got so tired of hearing some Saints fans complain that Drew was "only out for himself" by "keeping his precious streak alive."

The Atl game last year put an end to some people's misguided assumption. Amazing how some of us refuse to accept success. Good luck to Brady. I think he'll get it.

Wonder if Pats fans rip Brady, win or lose, for "keeping his precious streak alive"??

Actually, "no",. I always knew he was arguably the best at his position, but I guess I never realized how arguably,. Glad I've always been on the right side of that one, ;). Another part of me is saying, "Man! These guys keep stats on everything!",. It's stuff like this list that impresses me with the knowledge & devotion of the Black & Gold and makes me a fan.

It's knowing that list then hearing, someone so quick to say "Chase Daniel could have replaced him" that gives me a moment of pause.
