One thing to consider in all of this is that there is only 1 Indian tribe stirring the pot here. I heard an interview with a Coushatta (I think) tribe member yesterday who said that he had no problem whatsoever with the name.

I call it a money grab.

And btw, I am 1/8th American Indian but look more like my French roots with an Italian nose. So I can't relate.

I've read polls that indicate about 3% of Native Americans find the name offensive.

The filing was from a group that has nothing to do with the NFL.

The NFL is not going to let anyone other than the NFL hold a trade marked team name.

... I got an email the other day suggesting they be renamed the "Foreskins" in honor of all the d*ckheads in WashDC ... there was a cute little picture attached, but I didn't think it was suitable for posting, .
