Here's The Dumb Text Message That Richie Incognito Is Using To Prove He Wasn't A Bully

Suspended Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito did an interview with Fox's Jay Glazer yesterday.

In the interview, he said he was embarrassed by the things he said and did to teammate Jonathan Martin.

But he also argued that he isn't a bully, and that the racist/threatening voicemail to Martin that surfaced earlier this week was simply representative of the vulgar way all offensive linemen talk to each other.

He told Glazer:

"People don't know how John and I communicate with one another. A week before this went down, Jonathan Martin texts me on my phone, "I will murder your whole effing family.'"

Incognito is trying to show that his treatment of Martin was totally normal within the weird social environment of an NFL locker room. He's not a bully — he's trying to say — he's just a football player.

I saw that interview. Incognito sounded articulate and somewhat intelligent, but far from genuine.

Warren Sapp had a great take on him...he said Ingognito would throw a cheap shot and hope for retaliation penalties because he is not very good...Sapp is no SAINT(pun intended) but that is funny...Incognito is a huge man with a little kids face(and IQ)

Interesting that he "feels embarrassed" but is no where near apologetic for his conduct. Two idiots do not make a right.

He sounded to me kind of rehearsed...like he'd practiced it. It was weird.

Martin giving Incognito enough rope to hang himself and Incognito, being enabled by teammates/management, covering his ass ... and not a single person in that locker room with the dignity/integrity to do the right thing.

They're all culpable, IMO.

Is Incognito a bully? I don't know - but I definitely think he's an a$$ - been one his whole life according to his history.

On the other hand, I think Martin handled this like a baby - going home to mommy and daddy and tattling on his teammate.

It sounds like the zings and jabs were two-way, and Martin couldn't handle it.

Either way, I think they're both messed up.
