Lions Hire Caldwell

And the fans rejoice:

Lions Fan: "I'm feeling the opposite of optimistic right now."

Lions Fan 2: "I absolutely hate this hire. I may stop being a fan after 38 years. I really hate this F@#$ing team!!"

Lions Fan 3: "The Redskins, with their cluster**** ownership and a diva at QB (not to mention it seems the average age on their roster is somewhere north of 35) manage to land Jy Gruden. The Lions get Calwell.
"

Lions Fan 4: "Why take this guy when Kubiak is still out there? WHYY?"

Lions Fan 5: "Mr. Ford, with all due respect, and remember I'm sayin' with all due respect, this hire ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin' it on. "

And the best Lions Fan: "The peasants are coming with pitchforks, Mr. Ford."

:roflmao:

What do ya think SloMo?

I thought the Lions would hire a younger guy (college ranks). Jim is a not a 'hot and sexy' name however he does have a winning pedigree and couple of Super Bowl rings to boot. If anything, he may bring some discipline to this bunch & knows what it takes to win games.

Let's face it, Detroit is LOADED with talent and Jim might be the man to get them over the hump.

Lions Fan 6 "We just traded a guy who couldn't control his emotions for a guy who doesn't have any. Classic overr reaction. "

Lions Fan 7 "The march of the incompetents. This team could **** up gravity."

I met Jim last year. He's a really nice guy. He isn't the sexiest pick, but I don't think that's what Detroit needs right now. I believe this was a good hire because Jim is very level headed and they need him to be able to keep their emotions in check. He has experience and has had plenty of success. I may be wrong, but for now, I'm betting the Lions made the right hire.

Plenty of success? Ravens offense didn't fair very well under him this season and Payton Manning ran the Colts. Before the Colts he was the QB coach for TB for 1 season and his college record before that was 26-63...

I must me missing something

Honestly, in 2011, the colts did play in a lot of close games. They had pathetic qb play.

Time will tell. If he assembles the right supporting cast and brain trust (coaches) around him, they could potentially be a dangerous team. Caldwell seems to relate to players well & is an effective leader of men. Something Swartz lacked at times.

Cant say for certain if Jim can win Detroit anything.

He did with Indy only because he had Peyton Manning, while Jim was HC that is. Matthew Stafford is no Peyton Manning.
