Get rid of the kick PAT.

TD -6
Take it in from the 5 - 1
Take it in from the 10 - 2

So goodell tried to get rid of kickoffs, now they are toying with PAT's

will you even be able to call it football anymore when they are banning every form of kicking the ball

Well then we have some definite hunting to do.

Re: 42-yd PAT's a possible change in NFL

NFL chose it as the best option from a list that included:

*first TD scored by both teams must be followed by a two-point try
*PKs must designate dominant foot. All EPs must be kicked with non-dominant foot, ala Rich Szaro 1978
*all EPs must be attempted blindfolded, or a team may also sign a legally blind kicker who does not count against the 53 man roster or salary cap (ADA tax incentive available)
*Team A chooses spot of ball for EP for Team B, but must add 5 yards to same spot on their ensuing EP

Man the game is not broken. Don't fix it.

They will ban punts soon and say every team starts every drive from the 20 yard line

I wouldn't mind changing the PAT somehow. I don't know if this is the way to do it but now they're so predictable that most people don't even watch.

I have a really novel idea.
Why not leave well enough alone??
Let the game stand on its own merits.

I think this would be a great change. Nobody ever misses PATs. They are a waste of time as it is. Everybody knows they're going to make it unless it gets blocked. Moving them back makes the game more interesting imo.

Unless you John Carney.

Who would you rather have Carney or Hartley?

Hey dude, I've got the Falcons for our mock draft. How would you rank these guys if available?
DE-Clowney
OT-Robinson
OT-Matthews
OLB-Mack
TE-Ebron

Or are you guys targeting someone else perhaps?

1. DE Jadaveon Clowney
2. OLB Khalil Mack
3. OT Greg Robinson
4. DT Aaron Donald<-- Other Falcon fans would tell you to trade down for him, but I think that if we do that he wont be there when we pick. He's going to be taken higher than most people think.
5. OT Jake Matthews

All of those guys are players that we're most likley trying to get at least one of in the draft except Ebron. For the first few rounds you shouldn't even consider a skill player ouside of a LB. We're having an overhaul this season in the trenches.

Thanks for the info, I would have thought both OT's would have been 2 and 3 behind Clowney.

There are many Falcon fans on the OL boat for the draft, but what the Falcons need is proven vets on the Oline. Offensive linemen often stuggle in years 1 and 2 of their careers before they hit their stride in year 3, whereas youth doesn't play nearly as much of a factor on the defensive line. IMO, we should pick up offensive linemen in FA. We've lacked pass rush for years and it's time we get a premier pass rusher.

Re: 42-yd PAT's a possible change in NFL

I'm more concerned about pass interference. The way it's being called is ruining the game more than anything else.
