Megatron Still Looking To Dunk

When the NFL said this offseason that it would start penalizing players who dunk the ball over the crossbar, it was referred to as the “Jimmy Graham rule” after the Saints tight end who caused a game to be delayed by knocking a goal post off-balance in the NFL’s version of shattering the glass.

But Graham isn’t the only NFL player who celebrates touchdowns by dunking. And Lions receiver Calvin Johnson believes he can get away with dunking as long as he does it right.

“I’m still going to dunk,” Johnson told the Detroit Free Press. “I just won’t touch the rim.”

 ... "I just won't touch the rim" ... pretty bold statement there ... might start a trend, ;) ... can Jimmy dunk without touching the crossbar?

The penalty is for using a prop.. Whether they touch it or not. He will be penalized.

So will jump shots and lay-ups also be penalties?

If a prop is used yes they should fall into the category.

I'd prefer we did away with the coin toss to determine possession and move to the jump ball. Hockey drops a puck, basket ball throws a ball into the air. Let the gladiators determine possession.

Line up each team at the 40's, and drop a ball on the 50. Whoever recovers gets possession?

Just something a little more competitive than "pick a side".
