Marijuana and Hypocrisy
 

Marijuana is medically proscribed in 22 states and legal in 2 . Two premier plays are going to be banned from playing for a year. The players are undeniably knuckleheads for not stopping with huge salaries at risk and hurting their teams.However we as a nation need to stop punishing people for bad habits and that harm no one . Treatment is the future. Use of marijuana has it negatives,but we allow much worse behaviours drinking ,prescription pill abuse ,pain meds,etc.. The Drug War has had disastrous effects on our nation .The land of the free has the highest per capita incarnation rate in the free world. Tons of ineffective elfforts and billions of tax payers money has been wasted in futile efforts to restrict its use to no effect. We as a society need to see that we need to try another way. Many enlightened approaches to drug use have been tried and succeed infinitely more than our approach. Many people use marijuana nd are highly productive citizens. We ruin lives ,burden legal systems ,crowd provisions and deprive inalienable rights . STOP THIS MADNESS! Legalize it and treat those who abuse it .

This isn't necessarily the wrong forum. We are talking about punishing players for something that has a bad reputation and is a ridiculous drain on society.
Let Der Kommisar get some much needed popularity by not enforcing their drug policy. :beatnik:

Ick. I'm not going to go into why I completely disagree with you. But I will say that the players are responsible for their intake. Accountability. If they choose to do it and put their salaries on the line, that's their problem. I personally would rather not have a bunch of Ricky Williams' out there playing ball.

Not sure this is the place for this and it's really not a discussion on the moral issues of this waste of national time and resources. Legal or not, the dudes know that it's part of their job description not to use it. Alcohol's legal in all states (just not some counties), but how many of you will lose your jobs if you drink at the wrong time or place? I live in a legal state and many of the folk I know are still getting piss tested for a whole lot of a bunch less of a paycheck than those idiots are gonna lose.
