Report: Raiders Amenable To Switching Conferences To Complete Move To Los Angeles

According to Jason Cole, Raiders owner Mark Davis has offered up an idea to the NFL to make his franchise a more attractive option for relocation to Los Angeles.

Cole, citing multiple sources, reports that Davis told the league that the Raiders would be willing to swap with an NFC West team, to avoid the complication of having two teams in Los Angeles in the same division.
•Cole speculated that the team switching back to the AFC could be Seattle.

I wouldn't mind seeing that move ... Seattle to the AFC. Of course, New England, Denver, Baltimore and about 12 other teams might disapprove,.

I am a simple-minded man...what exactly would be the problem with two teams in the same city in the same division?

I think it probably has something to do with marketing, market share, revenues, ticket sales, merchandising, et... all that non-football stuff that Goodell and his cronies stay up nights worrying about instead of what's actually going on in the field, locker rooms, at home, et...

If any city would be able to support two teams in one conference, it would be Los Angeles, eh?

I didn't realize the Chargers were talking about moving there also, what's going on in South Cali? Leave the Chargers where they're at, let the Rams return to LA & flip a coin on the Raiders ... they had their chance and been there once already. JMO.

Them Rams were a Los Angeles team once too. Which makes me wonder, if the league wants a team there so bad, why did they let two teams leave?

Yep, :) ... Lundy/Olsen/Jones/Grier - the Fearsome Foursome ... Detroit had one around the same time, Brown/Williams/McCord/Karras and some say they were the original FF, though I doubt it ... wonder if Roman Gabriel of the LA Rams still holds the record for recovering the most of his own fumbles (4) in a game, ... man, I used to love the Sports Section in the old Guinness World Book of Records,.

Neither team could sell out. LA couldn't support two teams.

Frontiere wanted to move the team to her hometown, St. Louis. So she asked for permission to move, stating the team didn't have enough local support, and the league gave it to her.

The league was just scared of Al Davis and let him go.

No, I want Seattle in the NFC. Since the PED testing started at the end of last month and with the NFL cracking down on enforcing the age-old rules of illegal contact & defensive holding, the Legion of Whatever is tied for 19th in the NFL with allowing 252 yards passing per game.

And their offense? 20th in the NFL with 336 yards per game and 12th in scoring with 26.6 points per game.

The PED-Hawks skated around the rules of football for too long, and Pete the Cheat's team is now looking average. It won't be long until Sneaky Pete bolts from Seattle and leaves that team in shreds like he did at USC.

Keep Seattle here. I like the future of the obnoxious 2012th Man.
