Sproles Disrespected By Karma: Tears his MCL

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; Those of you how don't hold Sproles accountable for playing the "disrespect" card are duly noted. I am sadder for humanity, but I live in California so I'm used to it. Odd that this thread would be deemed as tasteless ...

Odd that this thread would be deemed as tasteless or tacky by you folks but Darren's shots at our team, coach, gm, owner, etc are not held to the same standard? Sproles was truly disrespected then? By whom? For what transgression was his respect from his peers revoked?

And I never said a man doesn't complain - a debate tactic that will fail I assure you. I said a man doesn't stand up and throw a tantrum. There is a very big and easy to see difference if one is actually interested in seeing it. At least that's what I think I said. But I'm willing to bet the accuser is well aware.

Maybe it's not so odd. The fact is karma jumped up and bit the man. Karma disrespected him. I proclaimed neither happiness nor sadness. I simply noted it.

Perhaps I am "disrespecting" the defenders of the right for respect and public acknowledgement therof?

Oh well. Just as Sproles will recover from his MCL and live to be disrespected by the Eagles when they make THEIR decision, so too will those offended by this thread live to post in another. Unless of course one violates karma in a truly tragic way.

Karma disrespects without regard to race, creed, religion, and so on and so forth.

I was a fan of Darren. I hated to see him leave. The minute he and his wife accused my team of disrespect I lost the respect I had for him. That was classless and tacky.

At least 3 of you people are disrespecting my thread. You three should be happy to know it isn't against the law.

Re: Sproles Disrespected By Karma: Tears his MCL

Quoting Sproles: “I felt disrespected there. Listen, I understand this is business and all of that, but (when they talked about trading him) they put it up on Twitter. That’s how I found out. There was a screen shot and a friend of mine texted it to me. I felt they did me wrong. First, Sean (Payton) told me they were going to cut me. Then I find out on Twitter they’re trading me. That’s just not right. So I really haven’t been in contact with anyone there since I left. I really haven’t paid attention to what they’re doing. I’m more focused on what’s happening here.’’

A lot of folks wouldn't think this is disrespectful including myself, and neither does Sproles' peers.

"If the Saints let me go tomorrow I'd probably feel the same way," Brees said.

Now if I understand correctly, what Sproles says is over-the-top, blatant tearing-down of the Saints organization in disrespect. It also requires a future MCL injury to be a consequence for it. Wow.

Dude what the flip are you even talking about? I don't control Karma! I have no say in what Karma "requires". Are you high?

In very simple words:

The Saints executed a BUSINESS decision on a player. That player used the (in my own opinion) silly, child-like, thug-like, tantrum-like "disrespect" card. I have NO PROBLEM telling you or the other two antagonists here that as a Saints Fan and as a Man I am disgusted by that and embarrassed for him for saying it.

He made 14 million plus with San Diego. But they decided they could no longer afford to keep him at his salary demand, so he left. Did he "disrespect" the team that drafted him?

Whatever.

He then goes to New Orleans and makes 10 million more. We praised him just as San Diego did, and we paid him well, just as San Diego did.

Now, he signs an extension with the Eagles worth what, another 10 million over this year and the next two.

35 million and change, so far, and he's "disrespected" because of trade...that happens to just about everyone who plays. No, he's not. He's just mad because he found out on twitter? Seriously Darren, get all the way over it sir.

But nope. His wife throws mud at our team. HE piles on. Lots of people went to bat FOR him to get him here, and he now refuses to communicate with those people because they are associated with the team that "disrespected" him. Who is disrespecting whom? Hmmm?

Do you seriously not see how childish that is? I mean, seriously? You're defending that? As my grandpa would say, "it takes all kinds to make a world I guess." Speaking of...let's do a hypothetical...

Hypothetically:

Me: "Awe man, they disrespected me grandpa. I mean, they paid me 10 million and all, but they traded me and I found out on twitter and now I'm mad and I feel disrespected. And my lovely wife agrees with me!"

Grandpa: "Get over it son. You aren't owed respect. You earn it. It's a business. You aren't unique. It happens to everyone, only most don't get 14 million dollar contracts with 6 million guaranteed you know? Get your feelings off your sleeve and go play for the Eagles. Man up. Take the high road son. That's where you'll get your respect."

I take direct issue with the "disrespect" mentality. You bet I do. It smacks of entitlement, and I suppose I was raised differently. And I'll bet you any amount of money you'll never hear Sean whine about Roger's "disrespect". You WILL hear a lot of these spoiled little brats whine about this and that and claim themselves victims...of "disrespect". We might "feel" it, as Drew says, but do you think Drew would say, "man, they disrespected me", in the same situation. I'd be extremely disappointed in him if he did, just as I am with Sproles, a player I otherwise like.

I didn't say "over the top", did I? Nope. But you did.
I didn't say "tearing-down", did I? Nope. But you did.
I didn't say a torn MCL was a required consequence, did I? Nope. But you did.

Sir you are arguing with yourself! Get a grip, please, before Karma comes knocking! It's not worth it man!

[EDIT]
It would seem as though Karma has determined that in fact a torn MCL is not the price required of Mr Sproles to redeem himself karmatically. Only a sprain was exacted. I for one hope Mr Sproles has the foresight to thank his lucky stars.

C'mon Man...

It's not adding up.
Is my play on Darren's own words classless? Could be. I'm JUST THE GUY he could have avoided had he kept his mouth closed long enough to think it through. Yep. I'm the one.

But I didn't wish injury on him, and I'm not happy about it as some might suggest. I'm just the play-by-play guy and Karma just knocked him the **** out! Boom! Man, that Karma can hit!

It is...well, it is, "karmatic", what has befallen poor Mr Sproles. Ironical even. Don't you agree?

But I never said men (or women) couldn't or even shouldn't complain. I do think the "disrespect" card, in almost every instance, and particularly in this one, is bogus. Everybody wants to be a victim, ya know?

And finally, what, exactly did he have to "take in the ***" as you so eloquently describe? Man, he took that tweet with no lube! Ouch indeed. Ouch for sure!

I suppose Sproles could say that trading him to create cap space for the NOW injured Jimmy Graham contract is Karma???????????

He certainly could. Karma is a mutha-you-know-what.

But he'd probably stick with "disrespect". One wonders what his wife has to say on the subject...
