Ndamukong Suh says agent will pick his next team

Lions defensive tackle obviously trusts his agent Jimmy Sexton.

Not only is Suh going to let him negotiate a giant contract when he hits free agency, but he’s also going to let him choose with which team

“It’ll be Jimmy’s decision, so we’ll go with that,” Suh said, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “You can call Jimmy if you want to.”

Asked if that meant the agent would pick his next team, Suh replied: “Probably will. Yup.”

That should take care of any questions about whether this one is about the money or not.

The star defensive tackle could be playing his final home game as a Lion this week, but he was devoid of nostalgia at the prospect.

“I don’t think about things like that,” Suh said. “I think, most important, we’ve got to go out there and get a win and kind of go from there.”

Asked later about the possibility of playing his final home game, he said: “No clue. It’s not my decision.”

While it might not fit the “I do it all for the team,” narrative fans want to believe about their laundry, Suh’s honesty is refreshing.

He’s one of the league’s top players at his position, and deserves a chance to be paid as such.

So the fact that he’s up front about going to the place with the biggest pile of cash is admirable.

Will certainly solve the attitude problem on defense...

Do you remember if he was a 3-4 or a 4-3 guy in college?

Yes yes yes yes yes ... he's more important than Byrd imo. He will be the reason Jordan and gallette get consistent pressure.

Can't afford. Would be nice tho, even as over-rated as he is. He'd still be our best player on defense

Letting his agent select his team just reads pay me in my eyes.
Surely you want a feel for the staff and team you play for

I just worry he gets that big contract which is probably his last big one and he gets complacent.

I'm no "Suh-expert", but I've been pretty accurate on my assessment(s) of him thus far, so here goes, :):

I think he's just trying to avoid the fan backlash of leaving for another team. With him, it's all about his "brand". Not that there's anything wrong with that, just kind of nutless for such a big guy, IMO.

On the Saints defense or the Lions? Don't think he'd solve the problem for the Saints because he's an individual, not really a locker room leader, which is sad because he could be a "Ray Lewis" type, charismatic leader on/off the field, IMO. As for the Lions, other than the 'kicking' incidents and his childish refusal to talk with Detroit media, I've never had a problem with his attitude.

3-4 DE, 4-3 DT, but you can't tell me a guy with his athletic ability couldn't play a 3-4 NT.

You really have to take the Ndamukong-goggles off when evaluating Suh. He does a great job filling his gap, collapsing the pocket, getting pressure, but it's questionable if he's gonna' bring it every game/every season, IMO ... and he's not double-teamed on every play for crissake!

In college, he had decent seasons and then exploded his senior year, just in time for the NFL draft. In the pros, he had a good rookie season, then went into hibernation until the final year of his contract. See where I'm going with that? There's history, just sayin' ....

Man, I love watching the big lug when he's on his game, but for the money, I'd rather see the Lions go out and get 3 or 4 other players at positions of need. He's mighty pricey for a DT and you gotta' consider how much of an impact does that position really have on a game, IMO.

Goodbye Ndamukong ... we hardly knew ya', :(
