I doubt Spags is a bad D-coordinator. He did not have the personnel to run his scheme here. In all honesty I actually rather like the philosophy of his scheme.

The year the GIants won the SB the Giants defense was giving up tons of points even then, Spags is only known for one thing, that was stopping Tom Brady in the SB, so happens the Giants stopped him again a couple years later without Spags.
