RWilson is that good. He has to get paid and big for services rendered. I look at that way. The future is the future, but he earned his money, top salary, for these past years in SS.

Throws a pick in the superbowl to loose the game. I wouldn't make him the highest paid but he does deserve a good payday. If he was smart he would have refused to make that throw and tell the coach to let marshawn run or changed the play up.

Re: Russel Wilson wants top money

I think it remains to be seen how they bounce back from this last Super Bowl deflation. That was a pretty harsh ending, on the biggest stage imaginable. It had to create total and utter chaos in their minds. I honestly can't remember seeing anybody snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, on that big a scale, in a LONG time. Maybe when the Bills kicker went wide right? It was an amazing "hero to goat" moment in Super Bowl history, that's for sure.

Hard to bounce back from that and not be affected by it, as a team and a fan base....I've already noticed, it has sent many of their fans crashing back to reality, and brought them down off of the unreal egotistical "Cloud 9" that much of the Sehawks fanbase were living on for a while there. And now Wilson wanting the money -- it's definitely going to complicate things. Plus, I'm remembering how Brees' contract situation post-Super Bowl had many fans here in New Orleans turning on him, calling for his head, calling him a bum and pretty much every other gnarly name in the book. Like I said, the Seahawks and their fans have been living on "Cloud 9" for a while now, I can't help but get the feeling that they are about to come sinking back to earth with the rest of us. I know people say they are a tough team, but it can be REALLY psychologically and mentally hard, to come back from something jarring like what happened to them in the Super Bowl last year.

If Wilson hadn't recovered that onside kick they would have never made the Super Bowl!!

I think he's a "winner", has shown he can play in the big games and deserves a raise, just not Drew Brees/Peyton Manning money. When he gets to the level of confidence/ability/seniority to change/make a play like that last one he had in the SB & make it count, then give him Drew Brees/Peyton Manning money, .

Re: Russel Wilson wants top money

Tough decision for the Seahawks. I first became aware of Russell when he transferred to Wisconsin thanks to my Badger loving wife and I watched most of his games that season. He was something special. I'm not surprised at all that he's appeared in two Super Bowl's already. Franchise QB's are hard to come by and this kid is special. I wouldn't make him the highest paid QB in the league, but he definitely deserves to be paid.
