Antonio Cromartie on Richard Sherman...

Also: "I would have to tell him go play in a defense where you don't have two All-Pro safeties," Cromartie said, referring to Seattle stars Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor. "That's what I would tell him. I would tell him, 'Go follow the number one receiver. Follow him around for a whole entire game, let's see what you can do.'

"Darrelle Revis has done that his whole career," Cromartie continued. "I've done that, Patrick Peterson has done it, Joe Haden has done it. (Sherman is) the only defensive back who hasn't. So there's no point in critiquing him. If you wanna label yourself as the number one, the best cornerback in the NFL, follow the best guy on every single team. His whole thing will be, 'Well, we don't have to do that. I got my trust in the other corner on the other side.' That's not the point. If you wanna consider yourself the best, the best do what the best do and they follow around the best."

We don't need him to be the #1 CB in the NFL, we just need him to be be solid.

He won't even be the #1 CB on our team.

I tend to agree with Cromartie on this one.

Me too

Keenan Lewis follows the teams #1 receiver no matter where he lines up

Same can't be said for Sherman who runs his mouth when a 3rd or 4th WR doesn't beat him.

I'm not sure thats correct. I may dig a bit more but I'm pretty sure we play mostly a L-R CB scheme.

When we played Green Bay, Keenan lined up against Jordy Nelson all game, no matter which side he lined up.

Same when we played Philly in the playoffs in 2013 when he completely took Desean Jackson out of the game until Keenan got injured.

Re: Antonio Cromartie on Richard Sherman...

Keenan hasn't covered #1 receivers his whole career and neither has revis....

In Tampa... Revis was beaten by Kenny Stills for a score ( #3rd on the depth chart at the time) ..... and by Robert Meacham for another ( #4th on the depth chart at the time.... I know tampa runs a different coverage scheme, but revis wasn't covering top threats during his tampa days... IJS

Keenan doesn't cover the teams top threat every game, the Jordy Nelson game was more of a once upon a time cover than an every game happenstance.....
