Pierre Thomas agrees to terms with the 49ers
 

Can't say I am happy about it!

It's been hard to understand this season why Pierre Thomas has not had a job in the NFL considering he caught 45 passes last season. On Tuesday, he finally got a job.

Thomas' agent Lamont Smith announced that Thomas has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49ers. Thomas will essentially replace Reggie Bush as a passing down back after Bush was lost for the season with a knee injury.

Thomas averaged 8.4 yards-per-catch last season and 4.9 yards-per-carry on 45 carries for the Saints. He's been one of the more underrated role-playing running backs of the last decade and specializes in the screen game. With Blaine Gabbert taking over at quarterback in San Francisco, look for the 49ers to build in as many "safe" throws in the offense as possible.

With starter Carlos Hyde recovering from a foot injury, Thomas could be asked to do more than just handle third-down work for a little while.
