Marshawn Lynch ruined 2011 for me, but I love the guy. Great player. Great person. Great for his community. Sad to see you go Beast Mode.

More importantly, the guy used his head and secured a pretty good retirement, :). You don't see that too often.

Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch has made $49.7 million in nine NFL seasons — and has saved all of it.

In a recent segment for “The Ian & Puck Show” on 950 AM KJR in Seattle, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network was discussing recent rumblings that Lynch might retire and dropped an interesting tidbit about Lynch’s thriftiness.

“Marshawn Lynch has a lot of money,” Rapoport said. “He hasn’t spent a dime of his actual playing money … ever.”

Presumably, Lynch has been living the last nine years off of endorsements and other business ventures. Lynch is estimated to earn about $5 million per year through endorsement deals with Nike, Pepsi, Skittles, Progressive, and Activision, according to Forbes ... read more:

I have never been a fan of his persona, not speaking to the media and that stuff. But he seems pretty smart in walking away healthy and with a pocket full of money.

He might have been a good player, and according to the above information he is apparently smart with his money. But I can't say I exactly respect him. All of his weird antics are annoying enough, but the way he put himself before his team in a playoff game (voluntarily skipping the game against the Vikings) pretty much sealed his status as a punk, for me.

The guy got to live his dream, yet you'd swear the whole world had shoved a telephone poll up his butt by the way he acts. Entitled, and always pretending people have wronged him, or are out to get him.

One of his endorsements & cool commercial ... sales of Russian Ushanka's were way up after this too,.

Smart move. So many RB's hang on way too long.
And of course, good for us, although all of their running backs seem to kill us.

One of the most game changing running backs of our time. I kinda of liked the way he bucked the system with Roger's staged pressers. It was quite entertaining with his one word answers screwing with the press. He was always a thorn in our side for sure.
