Norman is a UFA

Not sure if that helps or anything.

Funny enough I saw that it was done today on Wikipedia when looking at the 2012 draft picks for teams.

He's wanting to be the highest paid CB in the league...

Good news for us, whatever helps to hurt the Panthers

I'm assuming he'll want about 16 to 18 million per year.

LOL!!! Good luck

Like I said in the free agency thread... Kudos to the Panthers for getting rid of that head case and not being held hostage. Sadly I don't think this works in our favor. They'll be a great defense still because they're built around the front 7.

I don't think you should be allowed to take the tag away unless you have agreed a deal. Essentially they have screwed with his ability to get a bigger deal by stopping him taking a deal at the start of FA when teams have money to spend

Good player. Playing behind a great front 7. Somebody will pay him. Jags. Bucs. Raiders.

I may be wrong and don't recall the implications of not doing so, but doesn't he have the opportunity to not sign the franchise tag?

Well if he didn't sign the tag, he wouldn't be able to play this season. No matter, the Panthers rescinded the tag; so that he may get signed somewhere else.

So sounds like either way it is a wash, and as soon as he is designated his options become limited. Thanks!
