And in all honesty there is a level of dumb ass that exists in this country. When the hell did it ever become understood that you had freedom of speech at work...when? When did any one of the amendments to the constitution apply to you and your working relationship with your employer? It is literally how amazingly dumb people become when they agree with a certain side. The government shall make no law...government, not company I am employed by you absolute dumb asses.

Re: NFL Releases Statement On New Anthem Policy

Here's what gets me all twisted up about this crap of kneeling for the national anthem. We, patriotic Americans, stand for the national anthem out of respect. So, if a NFL player willingly decides not to stand for the national anthem, then I'm told he is NOT disrespecting the national anthem, or the Flag, or the military. When in fact that is EXACTLY what he is doing. Now, if this protesting player, or anyone else, thinks that I'm supposed to excuse the disrespect of the national anthem because of a different set of reasons, then either they/you are stupid. Or, you think I'm stupid. Which is it?

Dude it literally insults everyone's intelligence as soon as they turn it into not disrespecting the flag, they're actually showing the greatest respect by kneeling. It is so intellectually dishonest and it is why you cannot have a rational discussion with any person who even makes a small attempt at that stupid argument. If you have a cause just be honest. I may not agree, but if you are at least honest then we can have an open discussion. Rezburn comes to mind. dude calls it the way he sees it. Might not agree with him, but he is not dishonest and that I can appreciate and respect.

But yeah that is the old who are you going to believe me or you're lying eyes.

Re: NFL Releases Statement On New Anthem Policy

I guess we were expected to stand up and salute the NFL for this "amazing" stand they have made... Or that the owners have made, I should say. But, to me, this is just another "please, players, please don't do anything to bring any negative attention to the game".

It's better than nothing, I'll give them that. But when are owners going to grow a pair and remind these players that they are employees, and if they feel disrespected by being told what to do, maybe they should find another profession and see how they like that?

And as others have said in here, the lack of protests during the off season just further proves our point about how phony their "cause" is. I've never heard of a cause that has an off season. These guys aren't brave or noble. They are just following the latest trend. They don't know WHY they protest, they just know that it get them attention, and it's hip to use catch phrases like "social injustice". As soon as the season ends... Crickets.

They're petrified Burn, petrified. They are scared to piss either side off and so they're treading ever so delicately to a middle ground that is doing them 0 favors. They have no balls, like most of America, to confront certain people and groups.

And in all honesty I know for a fact that black are treated differently by some cops. It doesn't mean white people are not treated poorly because I have been. But there is no doubt that black men get a shade different treatment then white men. That said..my issue is what have you done alllllllll off-season for your cause? Where have the protest been. So I lose respect for you because you're transparent and your cause is empty bull**** to make it appear that you give a **** about something other than being disrespectful.

And I'd actually be on their bandwagon if they went down to police stations and protested in their off time. I'd respect that. Then I'd respect it more if they tried to have dialogue with different officers, etc.

But nope, the off-season is here and their protest have gone on summer vacation.

Your team stinks

Well I've been consistent in my belief that not only is their method and platform for their protesting poor and disrespectful, but their supposed cause is also not legitimate.

Of course anyone can cherry pick and find instances where a black person is mistreated by a cop. You can find instances of a black person being mistreated by any type of person, including people of their own color. But this whole idea that there is some kind of institutional bias by police against blacks is simply not backed up by any statistic known to mankind.

We have multiple incidents that have been turned into national news where a black man, with a criminal record, resists arrest or threatens a cop, the cop shoots the black man, and the cop is labeled a racist. Nobody cares about the circumstances; they just reach right in for the race card and pull it out, every time.

Then these ignorant athletes get on their soap box and talk about the "injustice" and wear stupid shirts that say "hands up", or whatever else. It is a culture of blame and deflect. They refuse to acknowledge the problems in black communities, and all of the violence, instead choosing to blame "the system", and how it is supposedly set against them.

Statistically, more white people are shot by cops than black people. But the excuse given is that this is because there are more white people. But if there is really an institutional bias against blacks, we should still be seeing more black people involved in police shootings. People try to say "well, black people are shot at a much higher percentage relative to their population". My answer to that is that blacks make up the highest percentage of crime OVERALL in this country despite being only 13% of the population. If you are committing that many crimes, of course you are going to be involved in a high percentage of police shootings.

But in the eyes of the media, and the black lives matter movement, ANY shooting is an injustice, irrespective of the circumstances that lead to it. The whole thing is a lie. Until the league and it's players admit this and cease with this phony narrative, I'm not impressed by all of the window dressing, and I'll continue to not support anything NFL related.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: NFL Releases Statement On New Anthem Policy

There are also non-shooting related incidents that people like to refer to, involving police and black people. But anyone who is willing to look for five minutes can find easily as many instances where a cop treats a white person like crap for no reason. Some cops just have a superiority complex; plain and simple. But those kinds of cops are the exception to the rule.

There are thousands and thousands of cops out there. But the media and assorted athletes/entertainers would rather focus on a few jerks, because it's convenient for them.

Re: NFL Releases Statement On New Anthem Policy

Here is my b1tc* FWIW...

Regardless of what the protest is about, its pretty spineless to protest in front of a captive audience. Its no different than teachers and professors using their classroom as a means of forcing their political or social agendas down students throat. Dr. Martin Luther King took his issues to the public streets; where people were able to listen if they agreed, or turn away if they didn't.

Those players have zero protection under the 1A unless congress attempts to make a law prohibiting their speech. Somewhere this nation started getting caught up in the 'can we', and stopped considering the 'should we'.

If you believe that the NFL made the decision that it did because it is concerned with revenue... you are right. It is after all a business and that is what businesses do, it would be irresponsible to do otherwise.

As far as the issue which is police violence against African Americans.. Why are players protesting the National Anthem which is national/federal, I am not aware of the FBI having an history of brutality. Maybe do the right thing, the right way and take this up with state and local law enforcement.

I suppose none of that matters if your just protesting because you are a pu**y whipped idiot, doing what your girlfriend tells you what to do.
