That picture of SM's former avatar reminds me of an incident that occurred over the Mojave Desert aboard a SW airlines flight bound for Ontario, CA from Phoenix.

Back in those days, SW boarded by groups. If you were lucky enough to get to the airport early, you got to board in group A...guaranteed any seat you wanted. Group B usually had plenty of window or aisle seats, while group C was reserved for the middles seats or those traveling in the cargo hold.

Anyway, we were in group A, and since my wife and son were with me, I told them to board and hold a seat for me while I went and got a personal pan pizza. When I got back, I boarded the plane and found my wife and son, and they were in the middle of a debate. They were talking about a flight attendant and her unusual looks. My wife thought it was a hoax, but my son thought it was real...or was it visa versa.

They decided to let me be the judge, and I anxiously awaited the return of the flight attendant in question. She never came back, so finally I requested her attention. The flight attendant gives me a big smile and a wink, and she says, "Oh, do you want to talk to Debbie?" Keep in mind, I have not seen her yet. I respond, "Yes, I do."

What happened next had me laughing as hard as I had laughed in a long time. The same flight attendant that asked me if I wanted to see Debbie came back with her hair in pig-tails and those fake teeth that we've all seen before, and she started hitting on my son. To make a long story shorter, suffice it to say that I smile every time I think about it. SW Airlines was known for doing funny things like that back in those days...I don't travel as much as I use to so I'm not sure if they still do, but it was always a pleasant change of pace when I got to fly on their airline.

Hilarious. SW is a great airline and I always like to inject a little humor in everyday life. Unfortunately for her I'm sure that she did this to a few frumps who didn't find it funny. Which makes me laugh even harder. :-D

I remember the peanuts well. As a matter of fact, one day I looked up and former CEO Herb Kelleher was handing them out. He believed in the "hands-on" approach to management, I suppose.

Living and working on the farm in Mississippi would come to hault for a few hours when the Saints were on TV. Nothing to feed, no fence to fix, no fire wood to load, just me and my brother and my Dad.
From of my memories as a young boy, to the friends that I now share this passion of New Orleans Saints football with, I will forever be a fan.

--enjoyed that much '4ever. Your story makes me homesick for the farm, and being a kid again when there wasnt much to worry about. Im stuck in this big crazy city, and like the old Bobby Bare song, "Home folks think I'm big in Detroit (Houston) ..." I miss the country, and I would miss MS, if I grew up there. Thanks for bringing that to us.

You know, I wish there was some kind of badge we could give all the old veteran fans--- the ones who were there in '67, sitting in Tulane Stadium.
If we do win the Super Bowl, the parade should have the players in one float, and the next several floats should be reserved for Tulane Stadium Original Saints Fans. Give em some kind of special badge to wear, so you know a veteran when you see one.

---"Skymike" is a working handle for my current gig. I've gone by a number of names in Houston, fitting formats from hip-hop, (I had no idea what they were calling me) country, 80's rock, Oldies, newstalk, and then I used my real name on tv. As you can guess I worked in a chopper for several years, doing airborne traffic, while similtaneously running a Flir cam for tv.

Now I use Skymike here, on several online places, and even in my wedding
business. Its easy to remember, and has helped me keep a high profile, which is important in my work.

Considering the fact that you posted your password on the internet I can see why your teacher called you that.

Mine is my last name and I'm the 3rd. You may see CheramieIV running around here from time to time and he's promised me a CheramieV.
