maybe somebody out there has a suggestion, I know i have until forever but I can't help but ponder it. Im in a keeper league that pretty much scores touchdowns only with a few twist. I have to keep 3.

I have 5 canidates that im considering

D. McAllister - Im keeping him no matter what, thats understandable.

Rudy Johnson - He was a definit keeper of mine until Perry was drafted. now i don't know

C. Dillon - hasn't done much for me lately but i think he will tear it up in New England

D. Culpepper - The guy was a beast for me last year, i know i could get another QB but its hard to let him go when he has Moss, and Robinson.

J. Horn - the guy is on the down side and there are just to many WR weapons.

it basically comes down to me choosing between two, Dillon, Culpepper, Johnson

I appreciate any tips

Keeping Culpepper is a no-brainer IMHO. He will be a Top 3 fantasy QB again this year. At least Top 5.
Dillon, Johnson, Horn - that\'s really tough. The line-up is 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF? How many teams in the league? Do you know when you\'ll pick in the draft after the keepers have been announced?
Without knowing all that I would probably keep Johnson. Dillon won\'t do much in New England. Horn will rebound with a good season, but unless you\'re playing with a lot of Saints fans, it should be possible to pick him back up in the draft - even in the second or third round. With the insane run on RBs in the first round Johnson would be gone although I don\'t expect him to have a breakout season ...

Tough choice. Only because good RBs are so hard to get the edge goes to Rudi.

I think your right about Horn, but you really think Dillon will do nothing for New England, I don\'t know what to think about Perry being drafted, I guess thats a wait and see till preseason.

id keep deuce culpepper and dillon. the reason being keeping dillon over horn is that rbs get more touches than wrs and horn is on a loaded saints team at wr. also, there are many wrs available to pick up but 2 good RBs is the first step to a FF championship. i would never let culpepper or deuce go. they are just too important to their team.

what chance do you think R. Johnson would become more valuable to me than dillon?

if chad johnson would get hurt for cincy, then rudi would be their only viable threat on offense but id prolly still have to keep dillon. the pats when by controlling the clock and with defense and that means running the ball. i still dont think tom brady is that great and they havent had a RB of this caliber since curtis martin.

Definitiely keep Deuce, Culpepper -- and I would keep Dillion. New England has been looking for a running back for a long while now -- and Dillion had a down year in Cincy cause he was unhappy. I think he will have a very good season this year :casstet: :casstet:

Culpepper is a no brainer. Not only does he have great weapons to throw to, but he is a RB who throws the ball. The man is huge. Not sure for last season, but the season before he was one of only like 12 or 13 players to get double digit rushing TDs. And the ONLY one who was not a RB.

Now for your RBs... I don\'t think the advice to keep Dillon is good advice. Yeah, the Pats will run a ball control offense, but when the time comes to score, they do it in the air. You mentioned TDs are important in your league, so here is a little breakdown of a Super Bowl season... Last year the Pats scored 9 rushing TDs as a team. One was a QB sneak by Brady. They used a runningback by comittee approach all season. Their backs got them about 1400 yards on the ground collectively. Mid 600s for Smith and Faulk, their two Halfbacks. Smith scored 3 times, Faulk had Zero TDs. The other 5 came from their FB Mike Cloud who they like to use in goalline situations.

Granted, Dillon is going to see alot more action than Smith or Faulk did last season... But how much will they change the scenario? They won the Super Bowl like that. They dont NEED to put the weight of the game on Dillon\'s aging shoulders... So dont think that they will...


On the other hand, Cincy is starting their new QB over Jon Kitna, who has been great for the last 1.5 seasons. With a starting QB who has so far never started before, the Bengals are going to rely on the running game a bit more. And even if the noobie QB falters, they have Kitna waiting in the wings to save the day. So if they start to plummet, the drop wont last too long. And even though the Bengals did draft another RB this season, Johnson still has earned the right to solidify his job by replicating some of the great performances he gave while subbing for an injured Dillon last season. At worst, he will share a few carries, but not as many as Dillion will share as a Patriot.

On top of all of that, Dillon has alot less value as a keeper due to his age. RBs are always a commodity, and if Johnson plays well this year and still gets replaced by Perry in the Bengals lineup, he could still go to another team and be worth protecting again in next years draft.

Thats my 2 cents, atleast.
