Twice in the past two weeks I've seen the Pierre Thomas question raised, first in a conversation with friends, well before the New Orleans Saints beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday, and second after the game, when blogger Reid Gilbert*tweeted this:

He is definitely the best all-purpose, most reliable running backs the Saints have ever had.

If given the ball in bulk like Deuce was I believe he would probably be our all time leading rusher.

Been saying for many seasons now that PT is the key to what makes the offense go.

And I've never seen a man execute the screen play as well as PT. Next to Deuce he's probably my favorite Saints player these days (current/former).

Quite possibly THE MOST UNDERRATED player in the NFL. Not kidding.

Deuce is heads and tails our best RB ever. He ran for 1500yds like three or more years. Dalton Hilliard in his prime was better. He scored 18tds one year and led the NFL in all purpose yds. Both were great runners with probably the best hands on the team. I must say that very often PT looks a lot like Dalton. But Deuce was a monster. People forget his first five years when he'd pop a 60yd run nearly once a week.
