In the midst of this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is Fiya Fest, featuring dozens of New Orleans musicians performing together for collaborative jams. The event is Friday, May 1 at Mardi Gras World.

Among the performers are Diesel Fiya with Karl Denson, Lee Fields, Tony Hall, Doug Wimbish, Russell Batiste, Robert Walter, Big Sam and Farnell Newton; and*New Orleans Social Club, with George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli, Ivan Neville, Henry Butler and Raymond Weber.

A tribute to the late Mardi Gras Indian Big Chief Bo Dollis features Big Chief Monx Boudreaux, Bo Dollis Jr., Cyril Neville, Alfred "Uganda" Roberts, June Victory, June Yamagishi, Terence Higgins, Nick Daniels III and Billy Iuso.
