Japan Society to present free screening of Oscar-nominated The Wind Rises
The Japan Society of New Orleans will present a free screening The Wind Rises on Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m. at Cafe Istanbul, 2372 St. Claude Avenue. The film is an animated and fictionalized biopic of Jiro Horikoshi, the designer of Japanese fighter planes during World War II, and was the last film directed by master animator Hayao Miyazaki before his retirement in 2013.?
