David Byrne's New Orleans show is canceled

David Byrne's American Utopia tour finale in New Orleans, scheduled for Oct. 8 at the Saenger Theater, has been canceled.

In a statement, the theater announced the show was canceled "due to a scheduling conflict."

According to*Dante DiPasquale,*VP of Talent for promoters Winter Circle Productions, the show was a go "for months," but after the show was announced, the theater told Winter Circle that the date no longer worked ? Broadway's Aladdin needed that date to unload its production.

"We tried very hard to reschedule the show on a different date and/or venue, but it was not possible due to the artist?s tight travel schedule and production requirements," DiPasquale said. "David Byrne is an icon and it is truly disappointing that we were put in this position of having to cancel the show.?
