what do you prefer PS2 or Xbox?

i like Xbox but i dont like the Xbox controllers lets keep the controllers simple and go with PS2

saintswhodi 06-09-2005 08:27 AM

I have both, and will but both of the new systems. For sports games, PS2 all the way cause of the controller. Any game that is on both systems, Xbox cause of the graphics, although God of War had the best graphics I have ever seen for either system and it was on PS2.

Couldn't agree more... speaking of Xbox, I need to get mines modded soon. So I can burn the new Madden on it when it comes out!

saintswhodi 06-09-2005 10:31 AM

I was gonna get mine modded, but then I heard you couldn't get on Xbox Live with a modded xbox, or that you had to take the chip out every time you wanted to. Too much hassle. Plus, isn't Xbox 360 supposed to come out this summer? Save the mod money and get that.

papz 06-09-2005 10:38 AM

You don't need a chip to mod an Xbox anymore. All you need is a hard drive that will probably only cost 45 dollars for an 80 gig. So you don't have to take out any chip and can get online at the same time. 8)

I don't think I'll be buying an new system anymore as long as they keep making games for Xbox... most importantly Madden. First Atari, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, and now Xbox 360. Goodness I think I'm going to stop upgrading and stick with my Xbox and 2 grand computer. :|

saintswhodi 06-09-2005 11:33 AM

Then you are seriously gonna miss out dude. don't get left behind. Trade in your Xbox for some credit towards a 360. You DO NOT wanna miss the upgrades. It would be like having PS2 out, but still playing PS1 cause they make the same games and not buying a PS2. Totally unthinkable IMO.

Gawd I hope I don't get talked into buying this 360 aHHHH! How much will this new system cost me? Can it really be much better than the regular Xbox? Will the make the FREAKING CONTROLLERS SMALLER!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?! :x Can I really trade in my Xbox for a decent amount of credit?

saintswhodi 06-09-2005 11:48 AM

If you trade in the Xbox when 360 is already out, you are probably only gonna get about $40 or less credit. WOn't be a lot. I can;t believe you have an Xbox and haven't been keeping up on 360. Let me find a link.

40 bucks... that's a joke. Might as well keep it.

Pretty cool site... the system looks very sleek, very nice. Suck the controller looks the same. I was hoping for something a bit smaller. It's going to run in the 300 range... so if I do decide to purchase one, I'll probably will wait til the price drops. But from this article I'm reading, Microsoft is taking a loss selling the 360 which is quite interesting.

"In an interview with TheStreet.com, Microsoft Corporate Vice President J. Allard said that the Xbox 360 would retail in the neighborhood of $300, although the final decision had not yet been made.
Microsoft’s current generation system, Xbox, launched for $299 in November of 2001. The system has went on to sell over 19 million units worldwide, keeping a distant second behind rival Sony’s Playstation 2.

The company recently debuted the new Xbox 360 at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. The new system will include a three-core processor by IBM, 512 MB of Ram, and a custom video card by ATI.

Sony also debuted their next-generation system, the Playstation 3, and dazzled attendees with tech demos that instructed behavioral physics in artificial objects.

Nintendo is planning to release their new system, code-named Revolution, in 2006.

Next-generations consoles have not retailed for over the $299 mark since 1995, when Sony’s Playstation debuted. The $299 price tag is considered to be the highest consumers will pay for a new video game system. Consoles that have retailed beyond the $299 price tag have never achieved mass penetration into households.

Microsoft is expected to take a loss on the Xbox 360 and recoup with software sales. With the inclusion of a custom processor, graphics card, and a 20GB hard drive, the Xbox 360 could still retail for as high as $349. The company has sunk over $2 billion to establish the Xbox brand in the video game market.

Allard said that the company would make a final decision on the price of the new Xbox 360 in about two months. The Xbox 360 is expected to launch in November 2005."

"QUOTE (Manning @ May 30 2005, 05:08 PM)
Well I am saving up 400 bucks, at least. I have 300 put away now. I want to get the System, extra controller and 2 games at launch.

You'll need a lot more than 400...

System: Probably $350
Extra Controller: Probably $40
2 Games: $120

Total: $510+tax"

I'd have to work 25 hours for all that. Did I mention I like staying at home more?!

Man I hope you can burn games onto the system or somehow rig the Xbox to turn into one of these. Won't be as pretty but if it could cut the cost by a hundred, I'll take an ugly cheaper rigged one.
