Thoughts?

So far, the Road to the Heisman is a nice addition. I like what they've done with the passing game, anything that's ups the realism, I'm all for. Some of the tackling they've added is cool, now you gotta work extra hard to drag the ball carrier down.

Already won a national title against VA Tech in dynasty season one with Ryan Perrilloux at the start at QB for LSU. Don't like the Heisman Race for a couple of reason. One, if you choose to be a WR, you can;t control the QB and throw the ball to yourself and get a lot of points. The computer controls the QB and decides where it wants to throw the ball. Two, it's not linked to dynasty. I thought it would be, but found it useless to run a HEisman campaign plus a dynasty season separately, since the only team I would play with is LSU, and I woul dbe playing two seasons of the same games, unless I changed the schedules, which just seemed like a pain. Long story short, the Heisman thing would have been a LOT more interesting if it went into a dynasty mode. I do have to say the gameplay is much better than years past, and the deep passing is sweet. All in all, I will prob still trade ti in once Madden comes out.

actually the heisman race is linked to dynasty b/c after 3 years u can go pro, or after 4 years u can go pro or stay on a a college coach i.e. take over the whole team

p.s. this is the greatest football game i have every played, the running is just awesome and the passings is way better than last years

Do you do the in season recruiting and all that in Heisman mode? I played a couple of games and didn't see that anywhere. Is it that you play your 3 years or 4 years and THEN you go into a dynasty mode? But then what about the first 3-4 years? No in season recruiting and getting new players? How does that work?

when u start the race for the H mode, it is a single player campaign, u are the player. so the computer is running your team, they will recruit and do all that but after ur player graduates u can take control of the team as a coach and continue on if u wish, then u will be able to recruit and all that other stuff

I can dig it. So you really don't get to do anything for the first few years besides play? Which I guess is the right way to do it. Maybe I will check that out again and be Tulane. They could use some good players. Thanks. I had written that Heisman thing off when I didn't see that initially.

yea, when i first started the race, i didnt know what was going on either, but after playing with it awhile i found out like at the end of week 15 it will show u who has verbally committed to ur school. my first year i had 5 4 start guys verbally commit. what i dont understand is how to see the guys who commit to ur school every year and to see who leaves, the only person i could really tell who left was alley broussard after winning the NC.

That must be a difference in Heisman mode cause id Dynasty mode, it shows you guys transferring, guys leaving cause of graduation, guys wanting to go to the NFL as underclassmen, everything. You can talk those guys leaving early or transferring into staying. I had to talk Jamarcus Russell out of transferring to USF cause Ryan was starting. lol

You also get to see all the recruits from across the country, and which states gives you the most recruits, which gives you a leg up on getting them to go to your school. The in season recruiting is sweet though. You schedule visits with prospects if they are real interested, and pitch something to them that makes them give eaverbal committ.
