Davis Will Play Friday

Friday, Nov. 20

Head coach Alvin Gentry said Davis will play against the San Antonio Spurs, per John Reid of NOLA.com.

Davis' Presence Vital for Pelicans

Davis is one of the best players in the entire league and the primary reason this team made the postseason last year and hoped to do so again in 2015-16.

Davis is the most dangerous offensive threat for his team, its best rebounder and a rim protector who anchors the defense every time he is on the floor.

He averaged 24.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game last season on his way to All-NBA first-team recognition and was averaging 25.5 points and 9.3 rebounds a night this year before Tuesday. The fact that he is only 22 years old and is already producing like that should have the rest of the Western Conference on full alert.

New Orleans is not a serious postseason threat without the former Kentucky Wildcat on the floor. His overall skill set is necessary if the Pelicans hope to meet expectations this year.
