Re: Dems bring in crowds by the busload to fill stadium for Obama speech
I've been blessed. I'm 48 years old and have never taken any type of government assistance. Can you say the same? That includes unemployment in case you didn't know. And if you have, you deserved it because you lost your job through not fault of your own. One of the safety nets that separates our great nation from most around the world. I absolutely don't have a problem with my tax dollars going to those less fortunate than myself in America. What I do have a problem with is our tax dollars by the billions being sent around the globe with the idea of providing food, clothing, healthcare, and education to other nations peoples, while the Republican party wants to deny the same assistance and services for American citizens. That makes no sense to me! In my opinion it's unconstitutional and certainly not what the founding fathers had in mind. On top of that, the foriegn aid usually ends up in the hands of corrupt governments who in use that money to oppress it's citizens instead of helping them. I certainly will always complain about that.

The "New Deal", which is where most of these social programs got their start, was hotly contested and in fact was being struck down in lower courts. Roosevelt managed to replace two key Supreme Court Justices who would see things his way. It was not voted on by the people. It was not OF the people, and one can question whether it was actually FOR the people. Since then, not a single bill passed by Congress has been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme court. NOT ONE. Not even Obama care, which is just about as illegal as it gets - FORCING Americans to buy a service from public companies? They had to call it a tax to get it through, even though the bills namesake, Obama, proclaimed "No New Taxes" for 250k or less earners. Still the waffling Justice thought long and hard and determined what was really meant was a tax. Can you not see that the fix was in? It's as clear as tropical water. It's not even worth debating. And what's worse is that is does NOTHING to fix the real problems with health care! If you're really about honoring the Constitution let me ask you this: Are you interesting in honoring the Constitution, or are you interested in honoring the liberal interpretation of it? This is a VERY BIG difference. For clarity, do read the Constitution and also read the Federalist Papers. If you do you will be forced to decide whether you really do honor what the Founders in amazing brilliance created or our Government post Roosevelt's "New Deal". You either come down on one side or the other. You cannot have it both ways. |

Why do liberals insist on more and more handouts that aren't necessary? Why do liberals insist that others pay for them? Why do liberals insist on replacing the family structure with a Goverment mommy and daddy? It creates dependency and poverty and destroys entire communities. Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive - Thomas Jefferson I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. - Thomas Jefferson |
