Heard a new angle today I had not considered ...
Obama We Are All Osama" Chant 1000s of Tunisian Salafists At Rally Thousands of Salafi Muslims gathered in Tunisia in a bizarre 'show' of force, at an Ansar Al-Sharia event on May 20. It seems they wanted to send a message to the world that jihad is great and they're coming- for us, I presume. And they definitely don't like Barack Obama. At the beginning of the video we hear them chanting "Obama, Obama, we are all Osama". Like that isn't quite obvious enough. Ironic, since other than giving the go-ahead to kill Osama Bin Laden - a terrorist - Obama has been a champion of Muslim causes. Then again, these ordinary Tunisians (some bearded, some not) obviously have terrorist sympathies, which just makes them terrorists, too. Read more here including a video Thousands of Salafis in Tunisia: Obama, We Are All Osama - YouTube One could conclude that the "spiking of the football in bragging about Osama at the DNC" may have and likely has caused this attack on four innocent Americans. | |

Re: Everybody take a good long look at this picture...
I think there are a few things we should all be aware of. This is very serious and we should make sure we have this discussion with people we know.
This embassy was not fortified like most are. Security was "lock and key" only. No bullet proof glass. No barricades. While others are well fortified and guarded by Marines, this one was not. Why was this vulnerable embassy, located in the very belly of the beast, not being guarded as most others are? Why, even after warnings from our enemies that attacks were coming, was this location not secured? Why, considering these things, on the anniversary of 9/11, a day we all know is sacred to us and to them, would we not provide protection? These are good questions. I don't have the answers. I do know the Commander-In-Chief is responsible. Period. This is an extremely serious oversight at the very least. These 4 Americans are dead, and their blood is on the hands of our President. |

Re: Everybody take a good long look at this picture...
I have to disagree saintfan. This was not an oversight. This was intentional. We had prior warning of the possibility of these kind of attacks. This is an embassy, sovereign U.S. soil. There is protocol for guarding and protecting this U.S. Soil. This was not an "Oops, sorry" kind of event. It was deliberate, and since **** rolls uphill in the military, the president is solely responsible.

Re: Everybody take a good long look at this picture...
My heart goes out to these brave individuals families who lost their lives fighting for freedom. For all of you partisan Republicans here, none of whom took the time to pass along such condolences in this tragic time and are only interested in demonizing the President, it's amzing how everything, everywhere, is somehow magically all President Obama's fault. I mean, violence in the middle east so rarely happens and has never happened under a sitting Republican. They have always loved the US until President Obama took over. You people are despicable in your blind partisanship. 9/11 happened under Bush. By the same logic, or lack thereof, you apply to President Obama, I guess it was all Bush's fault. Was it? No. Of course not. Although his administration ignored repeated reports and briefings to the fact that Bin Laden was going to attack the US on our soil. Instead focusing on Iraq even pre-9/11. There are evil people around the globe, especially in the middle east, who have always hated the US and always will. The only time they stop killing each other and unite is against the US. What all of us should truly be worrying about is a looming world war. Isreal is going to attack Iran sooner or later. We will side with Isreal. That puts us against China, Russia, and the rest of the middle east which will blow up again.

These crazies only understand death. The conflict in the middle has been going on since time and memorial... and it will continue to go on, sadly. Precisely why it is insane why our embassy was not fortified as most others are. This, President Obama is responsible for as Commander in Chief.

Re: Everybody take a good long look at this picture...
I keep getting accused by this guy of being a Republican, yet time and again I have indicated that in fact I am not. Yet he continues to insist that I am. I am confounded by this. I like to give people credit - I enjoy hearing the other side of the debate.
Ignorant as I may be, I am going to try again: I am going to be a clear as I know how to be: I am going to use small sentences and I am going to double space for clarity: Ready? 1, 2, 3... My statement is not a political one. I am not supporting Romney with my statement. Here is what we know: 1) This embassy did not yet offer our people bullet proof glass and other protections as other's do. 2) This embassy was located in an extremely hostile area. 3) There were open threats against this and other US interests. 4) This embassy was not protected by Marines as other's are. 5) The people in this embassy had acknowledged they were fearful 6) It is the anniversary of 9/11 It is somebody's job to protect this place and the people in it. It isn't Romney's job. It isn't the Speaker's job. It isn't Bush's job. It isn't Clinton's job. The task belongs to the Commander-In-Chief. This is the same for any President. I believe our President let these Americans down. I believe because it is his responsibility that he should be held accountable. I believe because it is his responsibility that their blood is on his hands. I believe this not because of my political preference. I believe this not because of my religious preference. I believe this because I am an American. I believe this because our President failed to properly protect these people. I believe this is simple enough for anyone with a standard IQ to grasp. I believe my previous statement is probably wrong. |
