Anti-American Protests Expand to More Than a Dozen Countries
The violently anti-American rallies that have roiled the Islamic world over a video denigrating the Prophet Muhammad expanded on Friday to more than a dozen countries, with demonstrators storming the American Embassy in Tunisia in a deadly clash and protesters in Sudan’s capital broadening the targets to include Germany and Britain.

In Washington, the Pentagon announced that it was dispatching 50 Marines to Sana, Yemen, to secure the American diplomatic compound, which was partly defiled by enraged protesters on Thursday. Re: Anti-American Protests Expand to More Than a Dozen Countries
The best thing for everyone would be for all Western powers to leave the middle east and arab states to themselves.
There has not been peace in the regions for years and never will be at this rate. They hate each other, but hate the West more.To be fair to them the citizens have good reason to hate the West. For centuries the West has plundered anything they wanted from weaker nations. All the normal population see is Western powers place sanctions on countries, threaten them forunfair elections while propping up puppet states with tyrants for Kings/Leaders. Who gave the Taliban money/Weapons and training? Mostly the UK and US.Why, to fight the Russians. Who has been funding and training the uprisings? the West. Who trained and funded most of Sadams troops....you guessed it. Leave the Arab states and Middle East to itself. If they slaughter each other,so be it.We cannot be a world Police force and should not be trying to force a Western ideology on anyone that isnt interested. The Islamic/Arab world has been butting heads with Europe since the days of the Greek States. The Arab world has no historic ties to elected governments. Its only ever been held together when a powerfull warrior/leader has led them in defence of there land/religion. In generaly they have split again after a external threat has been seen off. The only thing they hate more than each other is the rest of us. Look through the history of the area for men who have held power for any number of years,Saladin,The Mongols,Timur all Warrior leaders. They are a proud people who historically have given a great deal to the modern world. Islamic Golden Age - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. This is not ment as a US/UK rant. Of course nothing of what i have said is a atempt to justify the killing of the diplomats over there. Religion has been used a front for many land/mineral grabs and a excuse for war far too many times. Look at some of the disgracfull things the British Empire,Inquistion did,in a attempt to spread the "Light of God" throughout the world. The early US/British/Dutch etc governments did to the Native Americans under the banner of Manifest destiny. Its less than 50 years since some in the U.S got full cival rights, should any of us be telling others how they should live. Anyway moan over.Sounds all a bit hippy like and its not posted to cause offence to anyone. |

The "excuse" that this had ANYTHING to do with an anti-Islam video is complete B.S.
More than 70% of Egypt doesn't even have electricity, much less the ability to watch Youtube. The media needs to stop spewing this B.S. because it's not true. |

It is accurate to say the United States, the UK, and others have manipulated the region. Still, let us not forget it was the UK and the US who taught them how the drill the very resource they use to hold the wold hostage. And as sad as it is to say, we simply HAVE to have a presence there for that very reason. Even if we were to drill our own oil and never purchase another drop from the middle east, that market is a global one and the cartel has to be policed. Should the United States or the west leave the Middle East to its own demise we would be no less confronted by them. For us it is oil, democracy, and capitalism. For them it is a fundamental hatred for our Nation - our way of life - our lifestyle. We are the infidel, whether we're purchasing their oil or not. Call it bigotry if you want. I'm all for allowing them to kill one another and frankly wish they would exterminate each other from the face of the planet, however the United States, outside of our own oil (most of which we import from Saudi Arabia by the way and not Iraq, Iran, Libya, etc) interests, cannot simply walk away. I liken it to the time leading up to our forced entry into World War II. We can sit idly by and watch from afar. Should we chose this course of action forces there will eventually move on our allies and we will have to engage or turn our backs on the likes of Israel. Outside of Obama with his Islamic past, I'm not sure there are many in our Government who will stand for that nor do I believe we should. Personally there is a large part of me that is all for coming home. Pull out completely. That means our people, but it also means our aid, both political and humanitarian. Let them starve. Let chaos take hold. Then, the first bomb that lands on Israeli soil can be the spring board from which we launch a real war against these people. We can then eradicate them from the earth and then the civilized humans left of the planet can move forward. |
