this is a discussion within the Poli-Sci Community Forum; http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/18/op...ll-romney.html His father recieved assistance. His VP running mate recieved assistance. Yet, everyone who is or has are lazy, lacking motivation, and are only interstested in a handout. A person couldn't be more out of touch....

Re: Thurston Howell Romney
Clearly you didn't read the article. Reading takes effort. Comprehending takes an open mind. The jaws of life couldn't open yours up. LOL. Everything in the article is factual.

Nowhere did Romney or any Republican ever say that. EVER Get a clue dude, you're totally out of touch with reality and I think you may need some help. Nearly every post you make states some ridiculous stereotype you've been fed from the liberal elite establishment. The fact that you've already criticized people because of their skin color is proof enough to me that you have no clue what an open mind is. Its bigotry or racist at its worst. Either way it discredits everything you post. So don't preach your version of open-mindedness to anyone here. Its disgusting and hypocritical, much like the party you suck up to. |

This article, btw, has quite a few truths in it. Here is one.
The 47% mentioned in this article, btw, was totally purposefully misconstrued in an attempt to besmirch Gov. Romney. While he did not admittedly adroitly articulate his point for the masses to fully comprehend, he was actually conveying his understanding that 47% of the Americans do not pay taxes at all, yet are on the national nipple, and that he was not focusing on their vote because he understands that they have a vested interest in NOT voting out the current president, naturally, for fear of actually having to get a job. I'd be interested in seeing something factual to back that claim.
This whole hubbub over Romney's statement reminds me of the Obama remark about people 'clinging to their guns & bibles' ... what are we arguing over? Which candidate is more out of touch or has the biggest gaffs when they're off their teleprompter? Just like the polls, it's a neck-n-neck race, |

When he was younger & possibly eligible, I don't think those type of programs existed, and he certainly didn't need it after going to work for AMC.
It doesn't change my opinion of him one way or the other, I just question the accuracy of that statement in regards to George Romney & would like some verification, if possible. "Enquiring minds want to know" ... |

Re: Thurston Howell Romney
George Romney was on welfare. Who gives a sh**? Lots of good people were and are; it's not a crime. It is a crime to abuse the benefits, and sorry, but that is not a liberal/conservative issue.
