Spin the meeting of the two which Glen described as "insincere and stale" and then attempt to use it for political gain. Disgusting.

Yeah .. saw that ... and I think he has been respectful since. That is the nature of politics to use these kinds of situations. Interestingly, despite calls from Big Bird, the Obama team has not been as respectful as they continue to make reference.

Please don't tell me you're implying Romney approached this guy at a Christmas Party knowing it would further his image politically in the future. I can tell you, Mr. Ellefsen and Mrs. Doherty, from personal experience, that Romney approaching this guy was nothing more than proper etiquette by any host, politician, foreign dignitary or guest at any political or State function.

It's policy to invite as many decorated members of the military as possible to these events for color. Navy SEALs look great in their dress whites ... got the scuba badge, jump wings and usually a few rows of ribbons, even in peacetime. It is customary and expected for the hosts, guests, politicians and foreign dignitaries to mingle among the distinguished military personnel, introducing themselves, making small talk, et...

It's just a part of protocol, I seriously doubt if at the time of their meeting, Romney was considering it as anything more then meeting another Navy SEAL and certainly wasn't anticipating Doherty would be killed at a later date to his political advantage.
