Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
If American politics is the thing that you like, this was certainly it.
I'm not sure the needle moved after that mess... But I did learn one thing. I learned that virtually every question known to man can be answered by 'creating jobs'. :dunce: |
Re: Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
That Obama is a masterful lier.

Re: Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
Not so sure he was that masterful, Sarge. However, PRESBO did show up today in being a bit more aggressive. IMHO, a quick knee-jerk reaction would tend to rate it a tie or very slight Obama edge. However, after careful regurgitation, PRESBO painted himself into yet another corner, particularly with respect to the still unravelling Libya story. A very interesting unscientific poll sampling Nevada presumably undecided voters, most of whom had voted for Obama in 2008, resulted in a substantial Romney win by a 65% to 35% margin. Time will tell if that is reflected in Gallop and Rasmussen. One thing is certain, Obama DOES NOT LIKE being challenged. His dagger-eyed stare during the Benghazi question and answer looked positively , or maybe negatively depending on viewpoint, almost evil like; he could barely contain himself. We ought to know something by the end of the week or Monday perhaps.

Re: Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
I listened to this one on the radio as I did with the VP debate. Obama was better prepared this time, but Romney did not back down. I agree with the opinion that Obama does not like to be questioned and I hate when he goes into 'lecturing' mode. Romney got knocked off his game briefly when the moderator fact-checked him on whether or not the Administration had acknowledged the Libya attack was a terrorist-act.
One thing I notice is the difference in styles ... Romney is a stats-machine and rattles facts off the top of his head while Obama is basically in defense-mode and counters with, "That's not true" or generalities. Romney is stiffer, Obama has more 'style'. No clear winner, Romney maintains whatever gains he made in the first debate and Obama gives his supporters confidence that he's back in the game. I think I'll try to watch it for body-language cues if (and I'm sure they will) replay it. |
Re: Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
A brother asked the man "Why are my groceries so expensive?"
Obama replied "because I ended the war in Iraq, and have been chasing Bin laden". No answers... Just talking points. The moderator didn't moderate.. She sided with Obama... 1st QUESTION: Mr. President, Governor Romney, as a 20-year-old college student, all I hear from professors, neighbors and others is that when I graduate, I will have little chance to get employment. What can you say to reassure me, but more importantly my parents, that I will be able to sufficiently support myself after I graduate? Obamas Answer: Number three, we've got to control our own energy. Now, not only oil and natural gas, which we've been investing in; but also, we've got to make sure we're building the energy source of the future, not just thinking about next year, but ten years from now, 20 years from now. That's why we've invested in solar and wind and biofuels, energy efficient cars. We've got to reduce our deficit, but we've got to do it in a balanced way. Asking the wealthy to pay a little bit more along with cuts so that we can invest in education like yours. And let's take the money that we've been spending on war over the last decade to rebuild America, roads, bridges schools. We do those things, not only is your future going to be bright but America's future is going to bright as well. WTF does energy and war have to do with the question? |

But seriously folks... The answer to your question is not one damn thing. Obama continues to press on with the same tired rhetoric he used four years ago. I am flatly confounded by the fact that so many Americans are buying it again. His administration has been a catastrophic failure. That's hardly debatable. Next Monday is foreign policy. That should be interesting. I know that "I" would LOVE to debate Obama on foreign policy. I'm hoping Romney's group can figure a way to lay in to Barry pretty good without offending the fickle mob. We shall see... |
Re: Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
His foreign policy is for a lack of a better term, "apologetic".

Re: Thoughts On Presidential Smack Down #2
While I agree, and I am sure all conservatives agree, Romney has to be careful. He can not get elected on the conservative vote alone, he has to reach the centrists and a lot of those people see aggression as a turn off.
Keep in mind that a lot of those centrists are compassionate to "world peace", and still refuse to see the middle east for what it is. They live with "Catholic guilt" (I am Catholic so i can say this :-)) and feel the need to apologize for Americas wealth and success. This is why its very easy for Liberals to paint Romney as privileged. Class warfare at its best. |
