Re: Petraeus resigns
His resignation appears to indicate that he refused to be blackmailed. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks/months. I expect that Petraeus will be looking over his shoulder for some time.

Re: Petraeus resigns
I wonder if they tried to blackmail him, saying if you open your trap, we'lll tell all.
He said screw you, I'll admit it and resign. I'd be very carefull if I was Patraeus. |

Re: Petraeus resigns
Shocking indeed...that he didn't use twitter. Lost a lot of respect for him. I know he retired from the Army but that is a crime in their book. I would say he could redeem himself by telling all he knows about Benghazi but I doubt that will happen. He'll likely try and fade away.

Re: Petraeus resigns
Roosevelt, Kennedy, Johnson, and Clinton all cheated but never even considering stepping down. This is not about adultery. He told em' straight up, I'm going to burn you over Libya. Nothing will change that. He has seen too many good people killed and maimed in these wars, heard countess stories of uncommon bravery. I hope that is what is going on. And, his potential run for President is also still intact. Half the country is divorced. Nobody cares.

Re: Petraeus resigns
Besides being an author she's also a Major in the Army Reserve. Adultery in the Army, that's an automatic Court Martial.

Re: Petraeus resigns
I was just about to say that Beast.. I'm surprised they have not tried to jail her since adultery is punishable under UCMJ.
