Re: First official state gun

I believe in the constitution and the 2nd amendment. I won't go into a blab about gun control so I'll keep this simple:

An armed society will always be able to defend itself from foreign invaders - it's the reason why America never has, nor ever will be, invaded.

I DO NOT believe the founders intent for "Right To Bare Arms" included semi-automatic weaponry. Full automatic weapons have been outlawed since prohibition because their sole purpose is a weapon of war. I believe the same is true of semi-automatic weapons.

Therefore, I think any type of automatic weapon, either full or semi-automatic should be banned from sale and use in this country.

Not that I necessarily disagree, but the problem is the slippery slope. The liberal anti-gun idiots, if given the semi-automatic olive branch aren't stopping there. No chance in hell.

It is what it is. You can't deal with these people at face value.

We do enough of that for ya.

Since you took time to share I think it warrants a reply

I think both the NRA and all gun rights people do a poor job of representing this.

In my version my gun protects my home from foreign invaders.

Foreign defined as anyone that doesn't get mail at my house.

Re-framing it keeps the 'when is the last time we were invaded' people from having a reply. They ignore the reason we have not been recently invaded lol.

1. Of course they didn't have have modern weapons in mind with the Second Amendment. Just as they didn't have the internet and televisions in mind when they drafted the First Amendment. That interpretation is a slippery slope. When "right to bear arms" is used in conjunction with "defend against foreign invaders".... One could easily interpret that as the right to sit on the border and shoot illegal aliens crossing the border... This is why we should not guess or loosely interpret...

2. Common misunderstanding with the public. Fully Automatic weapons, silencers, short barreled weapons are not illegal. You do not have to be a member of the military or law enforcement to own them. Anything you want, you can own after the proper paperwork, taxes, and background checks...So could I.

Sorry that is blanket and I can not agree in whole or in part.

These are both "Semi-Automatic". The anti-gun people throw phrases like "semi-automatic" around in blanket statements not understanding what that encompasses. The difference between the rifle below and an AR-15 is that the rifle below has greater range. However no one is scared of it.

This is called an "Assault Rifle", yet it functions no differently and is no more dangerous that the rifle pictured above.... That leads me to my next statement.. Why is the below rifle titled "assault" if nothing other than to strike fear into people.

The most dangerous and destruction causing weapons that are available to the public will not be effected by a ban on hi-cap magazines, semi, or fully automatic bans.

Bolt action, mile range, can shoot through an engine block.

You should expect some in my replies.

This statement scares the living **** out of me. I could not disagree more strongly with this if you held a semi-automatic Glock to my head.
