Just wonderin'...

A lot of folks seem/seemed to rally around him and I can't really understand why. I can see how he has a certain charm that some folks seem to warm up to, but I don't really think that he or his father had this country's best interest in mind while in office. I want to qualify that last statement by openly admitting that I am very simple minded...sometimes can't see the forest because of the trees.

Personally there's not a politicain alive today I'd even remotely consider a hero in my eyes.

I despise Politicians and Big Government, which is why it angers me when people vote to give them even MORE power than they already have.

So...since you qualified your statement with "alive today"...my question now becomes, "Has there ever been a politician in our history, whether you were alive while he was in office or not, that you might consider a hero?"

I ask this because my gut feeling is that there was once a time when political leaders actually cared about the people they represented and not so much their bank account. I believe that when we allowed our representatives to stray from the course we started losing control of what was happening with our tax dollars.
