For once I agree with John Kerry. We put a person with no qualifications in the White House and after four years of futility we re-elected him.

Seriously? Do you think any candidate could have beaten him? He won by gaining the vote of the blindly faithful. The majority of the black people that voted for him did so because he was black, the majority of the white people that voted for him did so out of guilt. The rest voted out of need for a government check at the end of the month.

It's insulting that the only possible reason you see for re-electing Obama is race or guilt. I realize that may feel better to you than seeing Romney's or the other contender's shortcomings but there were accomplishments in the first term. Most of them done over the obstruction of the GOP. I don't get a govt. check, I have a job. I also pay attention to politics. I know what is going on and until the Republican Party gets back to what it used to be 30 years ago, it will keep losing elections. If not for fierce gerrymandering they wouldn't be in control of the House either. This country does better when there are two competing ideas about the role of govt and when they compromise. Any Republican who dares comprise today get's a primary challenge from further right. |
