I beat Capital One!!!!!
I put this in poli-science because this was a civil action case involving The United States of America v. Capital One. Bottom line: CO lost. They were ordered to lower interests rate for deploying Soldiers since 2006 and refused. Eventually the US Government body slammed them.
A few months ago I received a small check in the mail saying sorry. After further research, I determined the amount was way off. I voiced my concern with CO for months and they did everything in their power to deflect me. One call even ended with them telling me they had the info but it was locked in someone's office, sorry. Another one, when I asked for a mailing address to send a formal complaint they said they could not give it to me. Eventually I had enough. I sent an email to the Dept of Justice and within a few hours, guess who called me? Capital One!!! They said sorry and I was right. The check was put in the mail today. I just wanted to share this because it's a good story of not giving up. If you ever find yourself in this position I highly encourage you to fight the good fight and see it through. Believe me, I almost gave up but something told me to stay in the ring. |
